frontend conversion.. S14kouki? S15?

you have S14zenki and you got into an accident,(front)... so you have an option to switch your frontend... which front would you do??
keep the S14 zenki? S14 kouki? or S15 front?
i think changing it to S14 kouki or S15 is nice cause there are more bodykits available to those....
what do you think??

Keep the zenki, because parts are easier to come by and are much cheaper than kouki parts. Besides, the kouki front end looks goofy IMHO without the lip and sideskirts.

I'm sort of biased. . I like my Kouki frontend. . S15 would never be an option, because it's just. . not right. .and you're stuck with RHD headlights. . however, optional xenon :D

I don't like kouki more than I do zenki. . but it is a bit more rare, you will stand out a bit more. . (everyone asks me where I got my JDM frontend conversion lol). .

Yeah. . a friend of mine had an S14 with Navan front end. . its very nice. . especially if you can find the fogs for them . . and Navan all around. . very nice looking upgrade.


S15 matches the S14 very well, but. . I dunno. . it's just. . I dunno. . l'm not so much into oonversions that don't belong on a car that I'd want to do it myself, is all. . but to those that have or want to, I respect that. . because it DOES look nice.

If its your money: Zenki

If its someone else's money (but just enough): Kouki (w/front lip and sides)

If its someone else's money and you have more to spend than you can imagine: S15 (sides, rear, and kouki tails is a must)

The thing that kept me away from the S15 and Kouki front end is the cost of replacement parts in the event that I hit something.

Someone did a hit and run on my passenger side (fuckers :fawk2: ) ...man...that will cost me around $600 in parts alone. :bite: Right now I just have a replacement fender (unpainted) and corner light. I'm saving up for a hood and headlight. :-/ I need to stop spending my money on other chit and fix the body of my car.

I like Kouki, and Zenki, but some S15 front ends do look nice. I was going to try to do S15 on my S13, but it does involve a lot more than you think and some of the prodcuts are pure sh1t. (I.E. GTP Fenders). I think the stock S14 front ends are best, but its up to you. I also don't get too into the body kits or that. Keep it stock its not as flashy cops dont notice it as much and then you can smash up your car and not be like oh my beloved body kit lol...thats just my opinion.

The only reason I came to the conclusion of doing the S15 front conversion on the 240 fastback, is because Chunky Bai has it. But after hearing about how much work you have to do, just to get that, I may just stay with the pop-ups, and make them have the sleepy look, like Koguchi's forest green 240. I think it's Koguchi's.

97-98 240sx slanted eyes = kouki
s15 on s14 body = strawberry face AKA 14.5 -$2500-$3500 depending on parts chosen

a s13 silvia fron conversion is less at around $1300+ probably but is usally done on s13 models but I wouldn't be bothered by a s14 with a s13 silvia front. :hitit:

I like popups on a s15 or s13 but I saw a s14 with popups and I'm almost certain the JDM s13 silvia front on a s14 would satisfy me. I can't really get technical with the answers though.

shit, i wrecked my kouki front end on my 98 and almost went zenki. zenki asks and begs for gracer lip/zenki skirts/jdm rear bumper with molded endcaps. and the lines of the zenki face flow so good with the car. all stock 95-96s lack is kouki tails.

but, i did not go zenki due to depreciation of value in the car for the riceboy that might end up buying it. plus kouki ings+1 kit is fucking hot ... in the future

It's not beat up in that picture, is it? I kinda thought it was becuase the reflection can be seen so well on the convex part of the fender that it has a real wave distorted look. ;)

I'm thinking about getting a specific kouki but if anything happened to it I'd want to know how a jdm silvia coupe front would look on the s14. Anyway though I'm not sure really which s14 original front is < better > some days you feel like kouki sometimes you want Zenki. If ther was only of the two to choose from for all of 95-98 it would all be the same still.

off topic, hmm if you have molded side skirts and you destroy a fender is that going to be too much more extremely difficult to get back to normal than if you didn't have molded skirts? I mean theoretically if it was that bad you could just cut the skirts' seems and put new skirts over where the old ones were but without molding once a replacement fender is found. I only say that as an option because wouldn't it require a complete new paint job and a new skirt to have to be remolded to the replacement fender and rear quarter panel.

Basically is this last statement true and if so could the molded skirt just be broe out and thrown out with the ruined fender to be replace by a new skirt without new molding and paint other than the skirt getting paint itself, and perhaps get the other side skirt taken of and replace it to so that they ride up higher than the old seem for good measure. My mind would go crazy if I was considering buying something that had body work such as molded side skirts already on it...

The reason I thought it was a s15 is because those look like s15 rear quarter windows but they may be s14 afterall. Who is the one who scanned this tiny pic? If it is a s14 I think it is Teh sex even with s14 tails. If that pic is a s15 then can someone show a pic a s14 with the s13 silvia front. Hehe this is going to confuse people who are just learning how all the denotations work.

Stay s14 97-98 style (forget the jap name) I have s15 front end and im not that big of a fan. it was a pain in the ass to get it fit right. I personally like th e97-98 front end. But with s15 front end alot of people do manage to think my car is a skyline lol. Its sexy none the less but I would never spend money for the conversion. I traded my car for a car with the conversion already done.

A quick heads up......don't know about the rest of the parts concerning the front end, but I know for a fact that the Kouki headlamps are actually cheaper than the Zenki.......no clue as to why this is, but it's true...
