Posting this up for a buddy.
FS: 1989 325ix 5spd, zero rust, SoCal
Hey guys,
I guess it's time to try and sell my ix. I've put an unbelievable amount of money, blood, sweat and frustration into this car, but my study abroad money and mortgage is coming due soon, so something needs to go...
Key points: good manual trans, new clutch and tbelt, working transfer case, ZERO rust, solid suspension, clean title, all-california car, ice-cold A/C, just passed CA smog and has tags...
I've been under, in and around this car for countless hours and can vouch that there is no rust anywhere to be found. I can provide tons of pictures to back this claim up.
The only real downside is that for whatever reason the motor has a noticeable shake over 4k rpm. The vibration is definitely isolated to the rotating motor assembly and not the driveline. The flywheel was shaved, resurfaced and balanced before install, although I fear it may be out of balance. Until I have time/patience to drop the drivetrain again, I'm going to post the car for what I feel is a fair price considering this problem. i currently daily this car and experience no ill effects under normal driving conditions (not beating the hell out of it).
Replaced in the past 6 months:
Timing belt and tensioner
Clutch, pressure plate and throwout bearing
Input/output transmission seals
Clutch slave cylinder
Rear main engine seal
Shifter linkage bushings and Z3 shift lever
Castrol GTX high mileage 20w50 oil
Bosch copper spark plugs
Redline MT-90 transmission fluid, ATF transfer case fluid
All driveshaft flex discs
Remanufactured DME control unit
Valve cover, intake, downpipe and thermostat gaskets
Air/fuel/oil filters
New Bosch battery
-A/C and P/S both work amazingly with no noises
-No fluid or oil leaks
-Beautiful heated sport seats with rear headrest/armrest bench, Mtech1 wheel
-Sony XPlod headunit with Pioneer speakers, very nice and clear
-228k rolling miles
The dash has a couple cracks, the OBC lightbar doesn't work, and part of the front clip has been resprayed, but otherwise the car is pretty much straight and true.
looking for $4500 OBRO without wheels, offers near $5k with.
I can knock off a couple hundred to swap the sport seats for the original heated comforts (pretty clean).
[ for those who don't know, the IX is AWD ]
flywheel has been replaced.

This is a super great deal of a lifetime deal. A rare 325ix 5speed and a 325es with the full motronic 1.3 conversion also known as a budget stroker.
6k for both cars
