well i got some old rotas on my car. they were painted black sometime ago and i decided that it was time for me to re-do them. i dont know wat color i want them to be but that can come later. ive been told using some fine sandpaper always works but ive also heard that using chemical remover works even better. got it from this thread http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=33112 um... would this method work on painted rims too? im not too sure so if anyone could gime some helpful hints that would be dizzope.

If your trying to take off the paint, and don't care what color they are now, I'd use what ever you have. Sand paper will clean em since your sanding off a layer or so. Chemical cleaners could help as well. If you don't care for the color they are right now and your going to re-paint them use whatever.

I used the exact same technique on a set of 7 spoke alloys that were spray painted gray. I had previously tried to sandblast one of them, but the chemical stripper worked far better and faster.

If powdercoating is an option for you, go with that.
