View Full Version : Wheel bearings and hubs?

My son has a 97 that we are having problems with hub bearings and hubs. The front wheel bearing was bad. We removed the hub and ordered a bearing. the bearing we got was a BCA 510031. This wheel bearing was wrong. The ID is way off. The BCA bearing ID is 1.1811, OD is 2.6772 and the width is 1.7717. We took the hub to a machine shop to remove the old bearing. They broke the hub trying to get the old one out. It appears the old berings dimensions are ID 1.335,OD 2.955 and width is 2.10. These are guesses. I am assuming that the hub has been swapped or ungraded? Anyone have any experience with this? Can we give some more info to you guys to get some help?

I need hub and 2 wheel bearings.

95-98 Front Wheel bearings are not rebuild-able.

You need to order the Whole Hub assembly

The issue I have is even if I did buy a new hub they new bearing might still not fit on the spindle? Does anyone follow what I am saying?

But that is not correct info. The bearings are pressed into the hub assembly.

This is for a 1997 240sx?

If so you can't replace just the bearings. You will need to get a new hub. You can probably find a used OEM hub in good shape on your local craigslist or in the For Sale forum

But that is not correct info. The bearings are pressed into the hub assembly.

If you buy the Hub from Nissan, It comes with new bearings.
If you car was originally 5 lug and not using S13 spindles with 5 lug conversion hubs then the S14 Nissan OEM Hub will fit.

You cant rebuild them. Nissan doesnt even offer the bearing separately like they do with the S13
