what kind of guage is it? If its autometer you will need to connect the red or white wire to a switched power source from the fuse box, and the black wire to a ground. This will supply light for the guage. Then you will need to use the brass fittings supplied to connect the vacuum tubing, uncoil the tubing and run it through your firewall somewhere and connect it to one of the fittings on your intake manifold. Mount the guage and your done. Simple and easy.

I got a question about that too, When you guys say, connect to a switched power source from the fuse box. What are you actually doing. I have installed a few gauges on my friends car and we just hooked them up to some 12 volt line but it was the biggest pile honda so it didnt mattter if we fried the whole car. I was thinking, can I splice into the cigarett lighter line and hook all my gauges to a common point like that. (Im sure the ciggy ligher is only on when the car is on correct, I know in my mustang it is on all that time)

By switched he means power is present when you turn the car on and not when it's off, or in reference to the lights being on or off.
EDIT: You can just use a multi-meter to see if there is power or not when the car is on/off on any given wire.

Sometimes the cigarette lighter is a constant power source. For a switched source you should use a test light or multimeter, open the fusebox find a fuse that only has power with the key on, then you need to pull the fuse out and keep the key on, stick the testlight into that socket and find out which side of the fuse socket has power, and then use the opposite side to connect your wire to. This way the wire you are hooking to the fuse will be fused. Now somebody makes a little metal thing that slides over one side of your fuse, you stick the fuse back in, and you will have a male spade connector coming out that you can hook your positive guage wire to. You should check with a local stereo shop, or electrical supply company for what I am talking about. Or you can just be ghetto like me and peel of about 3/4" of insulation of your wire and wrap it around the correct side of the fuse and shove it back in its hole. I have done this numerous times without any problems. As long as you are careful not to have any part of the wire touching the other blade on the fuse, you will be fine because there is only plastic all around the wire, which means it cannot short out anywhere.

I tapped into the line that comes off the dimmer switch. That way I can control the brightness of the gauge along with my dash lights. Very easy to do just have to pop out the dimmer switch and use a multimeter to find the power line. I can't remember the color.

Yip yip, this is what I did too :)

careful doing that though, don't want to add a lot of load to a factory circuit... not that a boost gauge would be enough to do any harm.
