I am finally ready to dish out the money for an lsd and i've decided to get the Tomei 2-way from jspec.com.

The kit comes with fluid, gaskets and seals. As far as i know, i will have to replace the fluid as soon as i break it in the first time. Will the fluid in the kit be enough, or should i buy a another one and do i have to buy the same one?

Second concern.. i am worried about my diff being old. it has 155k on it. when i open it up to put the lsd in, what should i look for? should i replace anything while it's open? like bearings? i dont know much about the internals of a diff but i thought i read some kits come with a new pinion bearing? maybe not.

third concern..does 2 way lsd cause understeer that can be cured with 1.5 way? does the technical trax only come in 2-way setup?

fourth concern..the kit comes with 8 discs and it can fit up to 12. should i not worry about adding the extra 4 discs? will it have too much locking power already?

fifth concern..i have been told to get a new diff cover that holds more fluid, where can i get one of these?

and my last question is ..since Kaaz makes Tomei lsd's, does kaaz have their own usdm lsd that will fit in open diff pumpkins? what's is it called and does it come in 1.5 way?

Hi,
Kaaz does make USDM lsd unit for open diff. vehicles. Our unit also includes
two brand new carrier bearings already pressed on to the diff. Also includes
seals and gasket too. Both Kaaz and Tomei units come as 2 way only. But
1.5 way conversion kit is available.
Understeer/oversteer concern can be adjusted by suspension setup too.
Best way to start is to install the lsd unit and build the car around it to
suit your driving style and achieve the car balance you want.

Yes the Tomei kit comes with bearings too, though they are not pressed on the LSD. You will need to buy additional oil to use after the break in. The larger capacity diff cover is made by greddy and costs about $260. I have the T-Trax Advance in my car now and the 8 clutch plates are PLENTY. Installed it myself along with a 4.636 final drive and all I can say is *WOW* =]
