Hey everyone, I have a 1995 240sx and the fuel gauge doesn't work right, the needle most of the time gets stuck when I give it a full tank and sometimes when I drive it goes down and up when I'm on the freeway or streets. Overall it gives me the wrong reading for how much gas I have and I always have to use the trip meter to know when I have to fill up again. Idk if its the sending unit or floater or both, how can I get to the tank and fix it? I wouldn't mind pics if possible. Thanks!

You will need to Locate and Expose the panel to the fuel tank behind the Rear seats before the trunk ( this is where your fuel pump is ). I advise doing this on a low tank of gas because it does get a little messy.

Once you open the cover, Check inside and make sure that the fuel pump bracket is secure and everything is okay in there for proper readings, you can also test the float, take readings with a meter and make sure the wires and float are not stuck or pinched. Sometimes with alot of movement the bracket with the fuel pump will no longer be mounted and can cause some problems.

It should be mounted on the inside of the tank like the diagram below

Oh and where is the knock sensor located on the engine? idk if it makes a difference, but I have a KA engine.
