So I'm just finishing up painting my bay and putting the engine back together and being the first time ever doing this I just found out I need a clutch alignment tool to get the clutch, pressure plate and flywheel all lined up. I don't however have that tool so I'm wondering what my options are. It's an exedy stage 2, 3 puck clutch and this time I'm putting on a 13lb lightweight flywheel as well. Do I need to find one of these tools and are they clutch type/brand specific or is there some other way I can do it that will not screw up the alignment because if I got it back in my car and the alignment was off I'd probably go crazy.

clutch alignment tools are cheap. they usually come with clutch kits. you can probably pick one up for less than 10 bucks at your local parts store.

Nissan uses the same shaft for the most part so just get a nissan specific alignment tool. Or you got a blown old transmission, just cut the damn input shaft and be your life time alignment tool.

You need this tool or else you'll have a hell of a time getting your transmission in.

Didn't know there was one general tool that's car make specific. Thought it would have been clutch brand specific. Thanks for the info definitely saves a bunch of time just being able to go to the part store and get one.

That's exactly what I did when my SR trans took a shit. Such a handy tool.
