I'm pretty sure SNELL 85 means that SNELL approved it in the year 1985. SO when they ask for 85 or better it really means from 1985 or newer. I usually see the minimum being SNELL90 when I see the regulations but I guess each area does what they want.

SA2000 is what the standard should be...as it is with a lot of organizations...safety first..

thats a point for debate nokeone. M helmets and SA helmets these days are pretty much the same in crash tests. The SA helmets are tested slightly more but the M rated helmets when tested pass the same tests. SA helmets have fire ratings which M helmets may or may not have, unless everyone is wearing nomex the last thing I would worry about is if the helmet was M or SA; just that it was up to date.
m85?!?! Even if they accepted that, thats a pretty damn old helmet and could be fatigued.

you are correct..and i actually mistyped...i would have included M2000 in that as well...i was simply trying to address the point you did about age of the helmet..be it M or SA..a helmet rated for 85 is just kinda outdated in my opinion..we have newer technology..use it..lol..

I just replaced my stolen Bell M2 PRO. It should arrive tomorrow. The thing is so light weight. I only wore it once for a full day and my neck wasn't fatigued at the end of the day. I think it's worth it to get a light weight helmet if you can afford it. Check www.bellmotorsports.com in the closeouts section. That's where I got my original Bell M2 PRO for a really good price. They sell helmets that have paint blemishes for good prices but they might not have your size. Also, I don't know how legit this place is, but they used to advertise Bieffe Predators for $300 on their site. http://www.boomerangracing.com/index.htm Too bad Bieffe went out of business and they might not have your size.
