The problem I'm having is that my 240 will smoke but not all the time. I noticed that when I'm close to empty on gas it does it. And its never a huge huge amount. And when I rev it I get some popping and backfiring and then it stops smoking. I checked the oil and I'm not burning any and there isn't water in the oil either. And it's pissing me off dammit haha.

If its a turbo car, could be turbo seals. Mine did than until it decided to smoke so much that i could not even sit in traffic without being engulfed in smoke.

It doesn't do it all the time though. I check the oil regularly and I don't seem to be losing any. Is it the head gasket or could it be something different. And mantas I wish mine was turbo hahaha

And the motor never gets hot. Even here in Phoenix.

Try using lucas stop leak or a lucas oil additive. also use some sea foam in your gas tank. that should help =p

Idk about that stuff i really dont trust bandaids. Might work but the problem will come up again. It could be leaking rings valves? Check compression and see what the readings say. I would think that is your best bet right now.

How bad would that be to fix? Cuz it does feel like I have a vacuum leak somewhere. Like it's not taking off like it should when I hit the gas. God I just want to blow up this KA and throw an SR in it already haha.

Lets get back to basics.
If this only happens when your tank is low on fuel, you have some junk in your gas tank (maybe oil, or other chemicals).
If it happens when you have a full tank, then its something else.

Yeah it only does it when I'm low on gas. So I was thinking I was just burning nasty shit that sits in my tank. And I don't know if throwing some injector cleaner in with the gas will help but I got some of that laying around.

SR's are such silly little motors, why not just do a stock rebuild and boost 12lbs. That will make more power reliably than an SR.

Sure with proper tuning, and parts, and machine work = more money than SR.

So I'm figuring that it's burning off the nasty crap at the bottom of the tank? Cuz I keep checking the oil when it smokes and it's all there still. And still no water in the oil or anything. Like when I have a full tank it never smokes.

Funny thing is mine started doing this yesterday but im pretty sure its just my turbo giving up on me. Damn it that gt30 upgrade will be expensive...

I'm going to try and put injector cleaner in today and see what happens. It's just really irritating.

Just drove with my tank below the E mark and the smoke that came out smelled like gasoline and burnt up gunk. Any ideas on how to clean out the tank? Maybe a sea foam?

The best way that i know is what i did with my old 85 c10 drop the gas tank Remove the top/float assembly if it break or needs to be replaced is can cause moisture also so if you need go ahead and replace that IF YOU NEED TO. empty the tank. and if you find is rusty or dirty and nasty heres how to clean if take a bag or bucket of rocks pour in there and spray or pour some WD40 in it. roll it around the yard not lieing here im being forreal lol and in about 10-15 min it will look good as new empty the rock and flush and clean what you can with gas and there you go cheap and easy way to clean it no lie

Yeah I had a buddy hit the gas in neutral and white smoke came out and I put my hand close to the end of my exhaust and I had like mist on my hand. So it just seems like moisture. I think it's the tank because the guy I bought it from had the car sitting for awhile and it had a single slammer in it and I swapped in a dual cam from a 94 that had no head gasket issues whatsoever. So I think I'll clean out the tank.
