View Full Version : Wiring Corner Lamps to Blink

OK. I changed my front bumper due to a HUGE crack in my stock bumper, however the only bumper I could find affordably was a silly aftermarket one.
The good news is that the bumper fits really well, it can fit my huge H3 headlight driving lamps, it feeds my i/c better and it looks ok.
The bad news is that I no longer have side markers or turn signals.
I was thinking I could wire my corner lamps to blink off and then on instead of trying to figure out a way to get my stock signals to "fit."
Is this safe or reasonable? And how do I go about doing this?
EDIT: How about motorcycle turn signals like these here (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=35598&item=2456990392)

if you could extend the wires from your signals up to your corner lamps all would work
bike signals and hotrod signals are also a good choice i had a buddy who did those dei light bolts for his signals up front they looked pretty good

Remember that when you use a smaller bulb on the blinkers they will blink twice as fast because of the difference in resistance. I had the sam situation as you. what i did was take the blinker bulb and the bulb socket and fit them onto the corner lamps. you will have to do some cutting and fitting, but it will work much better than using the wedge type bulbs. here's a tip. Go buy some JB weld and make sure that the lamp is sealed well or moisture will build up on the inside.
hope this helps

if you mean your side marker lights flash, like mine do, do a search with my name and "blinky blinky"
you should find all you need

yeah, here is how to make the S13's sidemarkers blink with the turn signals.

I would assume its the same process, hook the alternate power wire of the turn signal to the ground wire of the corner lamp to make it blink.

Out of impatience I didn't wait for a reply.
I found that if you hook up the ground from the turn signal to the power of the parking lamp, they will blink off then back on.
It's not dark enough to test yet...

Cut ground input lead going into the sidemarker and instead, wire that to any "signal" posative voltage lead.
