I have MAX coilovers and they are groaning really loud. You can hear it within the cabin. It is a groan you can feel through the steering wheel. I had a shop check it out and they lubed the coilovers and the sound went away. Temporarily. Anyone else been having the same issues? Thanks

I did with my godspeeds. But they are godspeeds lol. I popped the wheels off and basically the spring was too loose in between the retaining collars. With the car jacked up in the air and the wheels off see if u can turn the coil inside the collars by hand if so that's most likely your problem. Tighten them but not too much so u don't over preload the spring. just enough so they don't turn by hand. If u still have the problem then most likely your strut bearing (camber plate) is worn causing it to bind, making the coilover turn on the spring instead of the strut bearing. Is it making a clicking noise, almost like the sound of a bad ball joint?

It's a groaning noise lock to lock. Sounds like something is binding. I had my wheels off earlier tonight and I can turn the spring with some effort but its pretty snug.

Did you tighten down the coilover with the car in the air when you 1st installed them. Try to losen the top nuts then put the car on the ground and re-torque them down.

Yes I tightened them with the car in the air, I'll try that next. I'm willing to try anything at this point the noise is very annoying >:0 Thank you for your suggestions

Found out the problem, It was my outer tie rods (SPL) The heim joint was making the noise. Lubed it up and the noise is gone
