Does brake line length matter?

In my side project I am thinking of rerouting the rear brake lines. The goal is to move them away from heat and danger - I also may add a bootlegger handel.

This would add maybe 3 feet total to the lines, will it impact braking ability?

Hard line your OK.
SS or soft line you will lose presure because the line is absorbing it... this is why your factory soft lines are short and mostly hardline through the chassis.
