Dear administration,

in recent years, we have had an increase in threads created by users attempting to show-off their "build." We've had various different types of builds, some of which are worth-while, others that are not. I have come up with a brilliant solution to reducing the amount of clutter here on the forum.

Build threads should have a poll associated to them, that way people can vote to allow or disallow the thread, depending on whether or not people deem the thread worthy. This democratic system should be simple to implement and would reduce wasted bandwidth from threads that clearly do not qualify as a build.

Thank you,
G's up, hoes down

disagree. With the next passing trend, a whole bunch of other cars will be 'more popular' then others.

Starting to get tired of seeing rusted out smashed up hellaflush daily driver drifter wannabe's.

If you are in a sport, great, if you are not... stop posing

as for the 'builds'. Subscribe to the ones you like, ignore the rest. Or use the search engine to find stuff you like. durrrrr

Poor Wayne.

LOL!!! why? I could pay 10 bucks have a blue name and move it back to the premie forum where the same circle jerk going on right now can continue and all of you cocksuckers can keep sending me pm's for help on stuff that used to be available in the build thread.

Hell that sounds inciting enough to renew a premie membership for since the admins wont delete the thread like I had asked along with every other helpful post I've made on the site.

I get far more enjoyment out of being an asshole like Mike rather than helpful.

ok girls enough with the fighting. lets all hug each other and call it a day :)

Mike i complete agree and support the poll. WE the community should determine if the build is worth keeping it alive... if it dont work, OP can just host his build on a blog and just post link of build on his/her signature like Wayne and Damon does..

Just thought it was funny considering how much shit they give you in your thread, few days later Mike posts this.

The problem with polls is you may run the risk of some dumb kid telling all of his friends to sign up with Zilvia and "like" his thread. Then what? by the rules it stays. People don't read the stickies in any of the forums. No one bothers no one cares, then they get all butthurt because they get typical Zilvia responses. Maybe define what constitutes a build thread as there are different levels and perceptions of it. Most people on here want to see tubs made, hacking of some metal, sparks flying and shit and then the end result. Unfortunately 90% of build threads are what I consider "Put Together" Threads.

Yeah I bought suspension parts, yeah i bought wheels, oh look how my car looks now.

Too many young kids, buying their first 240 getting into the drift scene wanting to share their accomplishments or lack there of.

Shrug.

Making a build-thread section would be good, but it doesnt eliminate the clutter of stupidity. We end up with people who never finish their builds OR have builds that suck and are not worth documenting. In the end, theres a huge waste of bandwidth and when it comes to searching, no one in their right mind wants to search through 5000 pages of data.

This is why the Gladiator thumbs-up or thumbs-down approach is the best. Its democratic, it is totally raw and archaic. If your car sucks ass or is cookie cutter, people WILL vote on that. The thread should be allowed for <a week> or <several weeks> and then once enough votes are made, the thread can be either locked or left.

Now, on to my dear friend Wayne T Edwards. As of late, his thread has consisted of nothing..... just jibber jabber. But that doesnt matter, because in the past Wayne has certainly paid his dues by re-doing his electrical and posting about his woes and problems, its the detail that makes his build worth reading.

ANY idiot can take pics of their parts and say, like the last guy recently did:
"here is my RB25, i have 2 of these"
"and here are my clutches, i have 3 sitting in storage which will be installed next week"
"my brake lines which will be installed, if i get my parts in on time this week"

its like WHO fucking cares if your parts are going to be arriving on-time. We dont need your fedex tracking number.... simply put: shit or get off the pot.

http://zilvia.net/f/builds-builds-only/

I have moved all the build threads to have been posted in within the last month to the new section.
If anyone bumps an older one to the top of chat, then I will eventually move it, but if ANYONE starts a new build thread in the wrong section, I am not being nice about closing them, nor will I EVER move them.
