I've been searching for the specs on the rod ends for the Version 2 Tension rods and the Version 5 Outer Tie Rods. I emailed Kuah with no reply.
I want to to replace the pillow balls because they are worn and loose. Which is a little weird for the tie rods because I've only had them for a year and less then 3k miles of daily driving. Is it possible to replace the QA1 65degree high misalignment joint for an aurora end? Also same question for the tension rod which is ATM all rusted up and the boots are torn.
Thanks in advance

You could use any rod end with any 'arm' so long as the thread pitch is correct.
I'd stay with SPL on this, they are VERY good with replacements.

They can sell you replacement parts. I bought new boots from them for my tension rods because they were cracked.

Well I know that already. For at least the tie rods I've found out this much
QA1 65 degree high misalignment end 5/8".
I've had the tie rods for a little over 1 year (less then 3k miles) and they seem to be failing already. I heard great things about aurora and FK so I want to give those a try. That's why I'm asking for specs (size and thread pitch)
But thanks for the input

Thanks, I just want to get rid of the boots in general since they even did so in the v3 tension rods. I guess I'll call kuah on monday.

Still odd that you're seeing pay in them already...I've had mine on an equal amount of time, but I can say the raods are pretty fair around me, and it's got a lot of track miles. I'm sure crappy road areas can wreck havoc on them.
In regard to the other brands, I think it kind of comes down to a 'Ford vs Chevy' type argument ya know? QA1 is equally as good as the others, and they are all interchangably used throughout motorsports. I can't see an FK (for example) bearing lasting any longer than a QA1 and vice versa.

PA has awesome roads compared to the crap shoot roads of nyc.
Yeah its definitely one of those arguments so why not try both. I've tried it with the qa1 and they are nice but only while they last. Aurora and FK are made in the US wheres the QA1 is made in china. All 3 are proven to be quality pieces though I can say that much.

Call SPL. I needed replacement ends and they were super quick. I received them 2 days later. I think they charged me 25 dollars for 2 ends.

Update:
Called SPL spoke to Pat. All i have to say is great company and great customer service!
SPL does not stock the v2 tension rod bearings anymore but Pat said they are still available through QA1 and FK bearings has the size as well.
For the v5 tie rods they changed up the bearings to ones with more surface area and he sent me the new ones.
"Those are our 3/4 next generation NCT motorsports bearing featuring a carbon fiber teflon liner to provide quiet operation, lower friction, smoother articulation and eliminates bushing deflection under load. The injection-molded slot-loaded liner is also self-lubricating and self-cleaning, offering robust reliability for street and track use. With more surface area then our old 2 piece bearing these should last longer as well. Please let me know if you need anything else."

The size he gave me for the SPL Tension rods v2 is:
3/4-16 Right side thread
3/4" Bore
Hope this helps someone
And thanks again
