I don't recall seeing this posted in any threads b4 now but it must have been, anyways here it is. The metal "pin" if you will that is on the end of the cam that the cam gear fits over to keep it in place is in a different spot on the 91 cams versus my 95 cams. Each cam was exactly 90 degrees off. A friend and i swapped out my cams and were staring at it looking at the lobes being in the exact same postitions realizing something wasn't quite right. Just thought that might be of some use to somebody, if they didn't already know it. However we aren't the brightest bunch because we must have gotten one of the gears 1 tooth off because my exhaust sounds VERY weird and loud, feels like the car is choking, and has NO power. SO i'm going to set it to TDC again and take off the valvecover, and hopefully the exhaust cam is 1 tooth off. Very sketch but who cares?

this has been hotly debated since I've heard (but never cared enough to confirm) that the nissan specs/part numbers were the same for all the s13 years. As far as I can tell, the rumor started when an S14 guy swapped in s13 cams "because they were more aggressive" and the ones he swapped were 91's, and the article never said the 91's were more aggressive than other s13 cams, just that s13's were more aggressive than s14's.
hell if I know.

sounds like you mixed up your intake and exhaust cams. all DOHC cams were pinned the same. at least, the '91, '92, '95, and '97 cams that I own all are. I'm guessing you went by cam color, even though the colors change through the years.

duration of S13 cams: 240 intake, 248 exhaust
duration of S14 cams: 232 / 232

I have '91 cams in my car, which are both noticeably "fatter" than the S14 cams. I obtained a pair of cams that are assumed to have come with my friend's '92 (they were left in the trunk of his '92 shell) and they used appeared to be 240 and 232 in duration. He may have just swapped the exhaust cam with an S14 one in a trade/ sale or something though. Hopefully I'll find out more come spring, since I owe my friend a 248 cam.

God Ddamnit! I could have sworn that the green 91 cam was on the intake and orange on exhaust but when i took off my valvecover, they were opposite so I convinced myself that i must have been mistaken. Well, now we know what i'm doing this afternoon. Let this be a lesson to all you DIYers out there........... DON'T be an idiot like me, pay attention to what you are doing!!! haha

while you're at it, you can double check the cam locations by comparing the cam profiles. the exhaust cam will be slightly fatter than the intake cam. it's hard to tell but i think it's slightly noticeable.

Alright a couple things to clear up........
1) I'm a retard, the pins are all the same as AceInHole said.
2) AceInHole ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let me know if you ever need any parts.... I'll hook you up the best i can! That's all i really have to offer in exchange for your help.
3) These things rock!!! I was not expecting any more torque, just top end, but i got both! Definately worth the work. :bigok:
4) Is it possible that my motor revs down quicker? Because i swear it does.... but that's probably just my imagination.
