Can anyone help me out with cutting some flanges off my old catalytic converter and welding them onto a universal cat for me?

I just went to a local place and paid $60. Finally I passed smog. Fourth time. Looked at the old cat.. it was gutted.

Good to hear. What was the name of the shop. Never know when that info will turn up as useful to someone else.

The shop was called Lipsey's Muffler in Vallejo, CA. I just walked in and told them I wanted to have my cat welded in, and they lifted the car up and said will be about $60 and an hour. They seem to have did a good job except for one thing. Sometimes when i'm at low rpm I hear metal by my cat vibrate. Maybe it's because I don't have all my hangers on.. I would recommend them. I think Jerry did the welding for me.
And you know you just wanted that info so when someone else asks you can say SEARCH *facepalm*

I only say search if its something like "Can I take the pig nose off and put the chuki on my 89 hatch?." Stuff like this you have a little less chance of running into with search. Its also useful to me as I haven't been in the bay area very long. Thanks

That's true. Well welcome to the Bay Area! Where did you come from?

Norcal up above Sac. Then San Diego for a few years. I know the bay really well, but I learned it all before I was into Nissan's.

El Camino Muffler, best place in the Bay Area. Got a pipe welded in place of my resonator for $30, and he said he'd do a 2.5 to 3.5 inch tip cat-back straight pipe for only 140.
