The wheels : 16x8
I am thinking that 225/45/16s are the best choice. Yokohama ES100s are available in that size for reasonable money.
Agree or Disagree?

I disagree
Why? Just that statement alone does not help me much. You did however, give a direct answer to my question.
Well.. a 45 profile tire is low; it should tramline along the highway, be loud, be harsh, and be a higher risk to the wheels in the event of a curb or pot hot.
My idea of ideal for something that is a daily driver is comfort! Disagree?

Being the best choice really depends on what you want out of the tire so be more specific to that and you'll get a better answer than what Halz went off to.

Tramline? That means following cracks in the pavement right? I already run 225/45/17s on my other rims, so would it be any different with smaller wheels? I am fine with the comfort level on the 17s.
I want these tires for daly street driving, decent wet performance, and drift days.

I've read that 225/45/R17 is the biggest tire you can go without the speedo being off, is that true?

use the tire size calculcator in the post above. it should say that with a 45 series on a 17 the speedo should stay about the same. i had some 40 series on 16's and damn the thing was like 8% off. i think it even messes with gas mileage and stuff too. at least it felt that way until i changed tire sizes to 50 series.

15's....lighter, less rotating mass, better acceleration, cheaper tire prices.

Just curious what would be the best tire size for a stock 96 SE rim for drifting an good handeling. I prefere performance over comfort to a degree. Should I just stick with stock size? Maybe lower the profile? :aw: :sadwavey:

16x8 is all i run
225/50/16 or 245/45/16 is all i run
if you have the space, alignment, and know how to squeeze it in.. go for 245 all around. If you want to play it safe well, 225 will work as well suckas.
