My 1995 240 has some major overheating problems! At first it would kinda spike close to Hot and then go back down after a couple seconds. I asked someone and they replaced the thermostat. Ok it worked for a while and recently it has been getting all the way to the Hot line then stay there! And it always seems to happen when i have my Air on Hot and blowing full force, but then i turn off the heat... and after like 5 min it goes down.. And the heater always blows out freeeeeeezing cold air or luke warm air. Never hot air! Whats going wrong?? either w/ the overheating engine or the cold heat. any ideas? btw if i have the wrong terms or whatever sorry i'm dumb. :loco:

Have you checked your water pump?

My grandma's car did that (Ol 80 Maxima) toasted the engine... Overheating not good... (Me I would get it towed in and looked at)

it's a new water pump, but we haven't checked it. and we're not the one who replaced it. so i dont know. also sometimes when it goes hot i can hear the coolant boil. so ya...

Have you tried flushing the whole system, and refilling again with a 70/30 mix (distilled water/coolant)?
I wonder if you have air in the sytem or clogging :-/
Also look to make sure there is no oil in the coolant cause then your just out of luck (blown head gasket)

Sounds like its time for a new radiator - yours is probably clogged up pretty good, you'll get reduced flow though it even with a new water pump....
