Hey guys I'm planning on painting my z32 brake calipers a different color. What type of paint would I need to buy in order for it not to melt off?

The clear always yellows over time.... better off with powdercoat. I hear the G2 stuff is pretty good

VHT caliper paint has lasted for YEARS, and hasnt dulled, lost its shine, or changed color, at all..

so it seems like powder coat or the G2 stuff is good? Can anyone back up that VHT paint as well?

I have wrinkle red VHT on my Z32 calipers and Silver on my SR Exhaust Manifold, So far no chips, fading or anything weird

Hell, even autozone/kragen caliper paint used on a track car lasted 2-3 years before it starts cracking/popping.

If you're not tracking your car, VHT or Duplicolor is good enough for normal/daily use as long as you clean the shit out of the brake calipers before anything. The only thing stopping is whether the elements you live in is harsh or head from the brakes (street racing dun count).

The VHT stuff sucks because you are supposed to bake the calipers after spraying.... if you are going to go through the trouble of removing the rubber pieces so you can bake you might as well powdercoat them.

If you can find a clear coat that will not yellow or chip easily then the rattle can option isn't such a bad idea.... I've searched/tried many different clears and they all yellow after being exposed to heat.
