you should probably put this in regional. But if it's a fix it ticket. Its in regards to the exhaust itself. Put stock on, and pay the fee. If it's a non fix it...then you just pay...and be on your merry way.

Exactly... Don't trip OP thats just ur standard noise pollution ticket, meaning your car is too loud, you won't get sent to the ref, at least you shouldn't because its not an emissions violation whereas stuff like a non-carb legal intake is. Either way do as fckillerbee said and swap it back to stock and take it down to the local cop shop and they'll sign off on it if it is a "correctable violation", It states whether or not it is correctable on the ticket

I don't think those are fix it tickets anymore. You just have to pay the fine now. I'll have to ask my friend who is a cop and find out.

yo bro's a quick trip to google ends all speculation.
V C Section 27151 Modification of Exhaust Systems
Modification of Exhaust Systems
27151. (a) No person shall modify the exhaust system of a motor vehicle in a manner which will amplify or increase the noise emitted by the motor of the vehicle so that the vehicle is not in compliance with the provisions of Section 27150 or exceeds the noise limits established for the type of vehicle in Article 2.5 (commencing with Section 27200). No person shall operate a motor vehicle with an exhaust system so modified.
To kill anymore uneccessary posts in this thread about the popo, the man bringing you down, how life is unfair, etc.
You have a fartcan on your car and it's obnoxiously loud and it's not making your car faster. You have the following 3 options.
A: IF THE TICKET IS A FIX IT (which is indicated by a "correctable" box being checked off on the ticket)
1. Put on stock exhaust, have it inspected by inspection station, get signed off, pay fee.
B: IF THE TICKET IS NOT A FIX IT (which is indicated by a "non correctable" box being checked off, assume it's non correctable if NEITHER BOX IS CHECKED")
2. Go to your arraignment (this means speak to a judge) AFTER THE FOLLOWING.
2a. after you complete step 1, if step 1 is not an option (they will tell you, if it's not see step 2) tell the judge it's been corrected, show them ticket have judge charge you 10 bucks or whatever.
3. You will need to go to a state ref for an exhaust certification to prove your exhaust meets the 95db limit, they will run tests on your motor for the violation you were given (so you don't have to worry about them running to obama saying you got an sr and and a bunch of other shit.) Obviously you already know your car sounds like shit so put a stock exhaust back on the car, go to the ref, have them sign off on your shit when the tests are done. Go to your arraignment and show the results, pay 10 bucks.
BTW a state ref visit will cost you between 60-110 dollars
3a. if you don't want to go to state ref because you have to buy diapers for your ghetto baby and your parents don't want to give you the money for the problem car that they can barely afford the insurance on then you go to the judge and tell them that you have no plans on correcting the violation. And the judge will either make you pay whatever the maximum penalty is (last exhaust ticket I paid for was 300 and something dollars a few months ago)
OR
They will make you pay the max violation fee and they will issue some narc order on the car not allowing you to register it until it meets california smog law. Most of the times this is super rare, but you can thank the street racing crowd of the 909 to ensure you get THE WORST PENALTY.
you're welcome.

I got out of a exhaust ticket because the cop thought I was moving due to having some stuff in the back of the car. Now I got a fancy smancy $60 silencer, more for the sake of keeping my hearing than pleasing coppers. Invest in one you wont regret it.

loud exhaust is a $118.00 REF ticket they only test the exhaust with a DB meter, the judge will generally only charge you $100.00 to pay the violation without fixing it , an you're done .
I just paid the violation an it did not affect my registration 3 months later .
Dont go to the REF , just pay the fine , much cheaper!

If the headers are CARB legal its all good but not having a cat is just asking for trouble in Cali.
