S13 HUD top speed

I buy one a few days ago, and wait the shipp ( almost two months :S) and read too many forum, and nobody can tell me how is the top or max speed on this cluster.

I see the HUD in first place have "I" digit, i asume the top are 199 ( in km/h in nothing, i have Eu spec unlimited.. almost 220-230 Km/h)

but, the cluster Digital, the first is "2" digit, is possible what the two speedos have different top's speed?

put rear end up on jack stands and run through the gears to find out.

Not sure why you need to go any faster than than whats posted for legal speed limits though.

Im at least 60 days to get the cluster, and in case of have differents limits, I can modify or try before install.

It is electric, so I would imagine the theoretical max speed to be 999 k/mph

i always kind of wondered this too. And for track reference (weather it be 1/4 Mile or road racing/time attack/lapping.

top speed it will read is 199km/h I had my car out on the track i was going faster and it wouldnt read any higher. I dont know about mph. this is in a 1992 240sx coupe with a dohc cluster with hud

Yeah i put the HUD cluster in my hatch and it wont go over 125mph for me. I know i was doing atleast 135 when i tested it out too cause i was playing with a Z and they have digital speedo as most of you know.

Edit: mystery solved.

I'm sure it could be modified in a way that allows it to read higher speed. Judging by the OP's pic, it looks as if the hundred digit has 6 of 7 segments available. Therefore it's possible for digits like 2 and 3 (2xxmph/kph) to be displayed.

Excellent, i work on that if is only via VFD/Dislpay or via soft.
