Anyone anywhere in the world, in real life or on the internet, seen someone done a Mark X drivetrain and body conversion on a Camry?

Not the same chassis. Get an IS300 or GS300.

The lack of a driveshaft/transmission tunnel on a camry is probably what is restricting the mark x conversion.

that and non crappy rear suspension that can support a diff and everything else that would have to be changed.

Camry's have a drive shaft tunnel. They have made an AWD Camry from 87 on. Although it was only Available in the us from 88-91.

The problem with his swap is that The Mark X chassis is more related to the GS300 of the same generation. IS300 is a closer body match. Putting a Inline engine in a Transverse bay would be a lot of work.

I used to think the Mark X is a replacement for the IS300/Altessas. They look so similar its not even funny. I just kept forgetting that they're the replacement for the JZX110s, which looked like giant Corolas on GS300 frames.

I on the other hand think both gen Mark X looks super similar to the XV40 Camry.
The X's are also said to be the rwd alternative to a Camry.

The thing that made me think they were similar to the Altezza is their styling and size are so similar. If I didnt know that the IS250/350 replaced the the Altezzas, I would assume that the Mark X is the replacement for it. You would never think that the Mark X is the next evolution of the JZX110.

It was a replacement for the Verossa which was a replacement for the MarkII(Chaser and Cresta).

You really have to get past the headlights and look at roof lines and body lines.

But, anyways the question was about motors. Since we don't get crown here. GS or and IS would be a better match than a Camry.

Only good Camry engine is one that came with the TRD supercharger and shoe horned into an MR2.

Or the one that's in the Evora...because it's in an Evora.
