i heard that you can only swap with an engine offered in the us market with the same chasiss. So you can only swap with a KA24. But someone was telling me there is a way to get BAR (Bureau of Automotive Repair) to approve of a different engine swap such as an SR20, is that true?

you can only swap with anything that has current up to date CALIFORNIA emissions regulated equipment... sr20det does not have any of that... obviously.... sr20de into sentra's from g20's is what you mean???

Why deal with this nonsense of always worrying about engine and crap with cali.
Bottom line is they don't want you dealing with shit on car, it belongs to gov. Get a trailer and tow your race car. BTW I'm selling a trailer. You can get anything to tow almost, any 4 door rwd sedan that's v8, like q45 (g50) plenty of torque to tow and cheap, sells for around 2k usually.
