View Full Version : 97 s14 Ka24de wont start! just died/ Help ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a 1997 s14 ka24de all stock beside a greddy exaust. i was driving on the high way car run smooth and motor is healthy never had problems with it before. till last night I was driving on the highh way all of a sudden i lost power its started cutting out till it completely died. Cluster light and all were still on. I still have power, but as soon as it died on the high way i heard a loud buzz comming from the ECU and a noise like it fired or something. Checked everything in the bay to make sure nothing got disconnected everything looks fine. Cranks fine and everthing but wont start. Also i hear a buzz or clicking sound by the injector area. I dont think im getting spark or fuel also. dont hear fuel pump prime (walbro) and dont hear spark plug wires ticking when unplugged. I cant confirm if the ecu is the problem, anyone experience an issue like this before or any i deas guys??? I need my car running by Monday for a new job. only vehicle.
i would appreciate. Also if anyone has a 97 98 auto Ecu for a 240sx.

have you tried checking for codes off the ecu?
check your fuel pump fuses?
there's alot of things that could have happened, maybe the pump died? :shrug:

Ding ding ding ding ^^^

Fuel pump fuse was blown. i didnt have a diagram on my fuse box in the bay so it made it a little harder. 97 kouki back on the road!

you might want to double check your walboro then...something's causing a surge in that circuit. keep some spare fuses handy :D

Simply replacing the fuse does not cure the problem. Check the pump for good ground, and also check the wires for shorting out.

so pull out the pump and double check the wiring and grounds?

If the ground is bad, the extra resistance can blow a fuse.

A direct short will certainly blow fuses.

The pump seems to be working, so I would look for an intermittent issue. A wire vibrating against bare metal would be considered intermittent. Something easily caused when installing or reworking existing wiring, such as changing a fuel pump.

only wiring i can remember working on is the harness on the driver side fender since it rubbed on my wheels. it didnt cut anything but it ate a litte where you can see the exposed wire. i individually wrapped each and every wire that was exposed and wrapped every thing together. also put a little chicken wire to hold up the wiring harness were it come out and tucked it.
