Are there any off the shelf scanners that can check ignition timing?
Or even the Nissan consult? I can't tell because fsm doesn't show anything about being able to check it with the Consult in the ignition timing section.
I failed smog cuz timing was off and I want to double check my "eyecrometer" measurement if possible before I go back in again.
Thanks.

None that i know of. Iirc only obd2+ can, if that. I only do my timing with nissan consult which is only used to lock the ecu from adjusting timing so its suuuuper easy to check/change timing with a timing gun.

Hmm... My results show 31 btdc and I don't even see how that's possible to get a measurement like that by eye since the last tick is 20 degrees.
Which is why I'm curious, unless I got hustled.

on what car? what motor? can you say more info about your car? if you have access to a timing gun then search google so you can check where is your timing at.

Damn I really wish it showed what car we owned below our avatar cuz its in my profile. Anyway bone stock 97. I did check with timing gun that's why I said I wanted to double check my "eyecrometer" measurement with a scanner if possible.

ok smart ass if you are looking to get some help here at least give information so people can actually give you some guide. no one will go to your profile just to check what car you have. idiot

I never said that to offend you. I was just saying it in general so I don't have to type it in everytime I make a thread.
I answered all your questions you asked, I'm assuming you are knowledgeable about what I'm asking if you took the time to look at my thread.
