Hi all,

My car was running perfectly fine earlier today. Later the day when I tried to turn on the engine again, I let go the ignition a little earlier than I usually do and gas a little too hard as well. Then the engine starts idling rough...:-/

My friends and I found out that the 3rd cylinder is not running. We replaced the spark plugs and nothing changed. We unplug the injector wire and the engine still runs as rough. :-/

Any idea on what is happening?

did you check that injector to make sure its good? its probably bad. injectors always die on ka's. if you pull it and nothing changes all that means is that you found the misfiring cylinder. it doesnt tell you whether or not the injector is good or not.

should i switch injectors around and see if any of them is bad? if so, do i have to "drain" the fuel before taking out the injectors?

No dont switch them....injectors tick when running....get a tube or hose and listen to each injector.....

Yep they always go out....I had 2 go out in the past year....

I picked up the whole used rail with injectors for 40.....I bought o-ring rebuild kits from Autozone for 4 bucks and problem solved...

Check your injector connections. I had this issue with cylinder misfiring when I swapped in a rebuilt motor and that was the problem.

Good question....I think it should be ok....but check the part numbers to be sure....

I unplugged the adaptor and plugged it back... still no sign from the cylinder.

I don't have any tools to test whether electricity goes to the bad cylinder. Any suggestion? :-/

Just a little update for the car.

It was really the fuel injector. The car runs nice and smooth after replacing that.

Thanks guys!
