96 S14 OBD-I conversion issue

Ok so I wired up an OBD-I ECU pigtail into my S14's harness ( spliced it in so I still retain the OBD-II plug) turn key and she fires up and runs, sounds like Mad Mikes 4-rotor RX7, AWESOME! but I know its not supposed to, its over loading and black smoke it duping out at idle, other than that it runs great, past 1/2 throttle, throttle response its normal also, right at cruising about 1/4 throttle it has a real bad hesitation .... WTF people!??!?!
