Ok i'll tell you guys step by step how i did it. But i'm not responsible for anything wrong that happens, as long as you fallow this you should be ok.

1. Remove strut tower bar, and cover intake filter with a plastic bag. If your intake piping isn't polished cover it with something
2. Spray the entire engine down with engine dergreaser (i like using castrol superclean)
3. Turn the hose on full blast, if you have a nosel great or a pressure washer even better, but i'm ghetto so u just place my thumb over the hose to create more pressure, spray the entire engine down with the hose but just try and stay away from the distributer.
4. After your done and the engine is soking wet remove the plastic bag over your intake filter and start the engine, close the hood all the way down and just wash your car or sumthin (this will alow the heat to steam out the engine grease), after about 15-20 min open the hood again and check if the water is dry.
5. By this time the valve cover and a polished intake may have a white discoloration on them, but dont worry about it yet.
6. Spray the engine with armor all or another tire dresser get all the hoses and the valve cover. close the hood again. After about 5 more min just shut off the engine and wipe the armor all off with a towel.
7. A polished intake can be repolished using Mothers Mag Wheel Polish as well as a strut tower bar, if your valve color still has discoloration after using armor all it also can be repolished using the Mothers Mag Wheel Polish.
8. If your really maticulous like myself, you can bust out the degreaser again and sray it on the radiator support and other underhood paint and wipe down with a towel but do it sections at a time.

thats about it, thats all i do! Have fun.

What if i have no nozel, pressure washer and only half a thumb? :rant2:

anyways, How did you get the shock tower radiator supposrt so clean? or any of the painted areas in the bay?

correct me if i'm wrong, but steaming it with the engine degreaser in there would get to all the otherwise 'hard to reach for human hands' places, like the engine bay wall. i guess i'd better make sure all wires, hoses, pipes and stuff are well covered/closed before attempt this. :X

Isnt it very bad to spray your engine bay with water? Its not smart to start your car right after it since it can cause some serious damage to the engine when it heats up or cools down to quickly.

yea thats why i suggest that you cover the filter while spraying, and also avoiding spraying ignition components. This is the way we used to clean engine bays on the used cars at Turner Nissan here in sac, and we never had any problems. However on my old chevy when i did this the car would run rough for a few minutes but thats about all, and besides it was a chevy! lol.

It's not all that hard guys.....wrap up all neccessary parts you're not wanting to get water on (filter, MAF, distributor, ect), spray degreaser everywhere in the engine bay, hose it down and let it dry for an hour or two. I would try getting ahold of a good pressure washer as well...a regular hose will do the job, but some serious force behind that water will do an even better job at getting some of the tougher grime off...here's a pic of mine after I cleaned it last time.
