As you all know the S13 seats are uncomfortable and fugly. after 22 years of use my driver seat finally broke. The backing broke at the hinges and their was no way to repair it. Off to the junk yard. While scavenging way through the yard i found a seat a really like already in a junked s13 but it obviously wasnt from a 240. I knew some fabrication would be needed to make this seat fit. Here's how i did it.
Seat cost: 25$
Time: 4hrs.
Materials:Seat rails from junk yard seat. Brackets from 240sx.
- Welding machine
-Grinder
First I removed the (rear) brackets from the seat i bought at the junkyard and cut off the
(front) hinges, so it could sit level on the floor.
Then I removed the (rear) brackets off the spare 240sx rails and welded them to the junkyard seat.
I had to add 2 1/2" to the rail closest to the driver side door and .25" to the bracket (at an angle) closes to the center console.
NOTE: It took me a few times of welding and test fits in the car when i finally got it right. Hope the pictures help.
