For those of you that don't know know. The interlock device is that thing you blow into to get your car started. My question is. If you have an sr20det motor does it disqualify, or fail inspection prior to having the interlock device installed? Does this interlock device require removal of turbo timers?
Comments?

You mean for like court ordered DUI and all that? If so I think you got bigger issues than having to worry about an SR but if anyone official and working for the CHP or DOT sees that and knows what it is they will have ur car impounded

Go buy a $500 POS and have them install in on that.

I work for LifeSafer IID installer I run 2 center in Sacramento ca

yes u can keep turbo time but most time you will need to stay by iid till car off or just disable it till your DMV or COURT Order is over

Go buy a $500 POS and have them install in on that.

Note driving a car with out iid can get you in trouble ( IID people with most time give you a DMV Form that Links you license to that car with IID and u cant drive any car with out one )

-- 1 could get car taken 2 TONS of FINES via court or DMV

note Smart start IID SUCKS A$$ ( drains battery and like to lock people out with out notice )

You missed the point of what they were saying...
They were saying to NOT put it on his SR car, but instead to buy a beater and have them put it on THAT car. Suggestion is that if the car is registered to be driven by him, then there should be no problem.

ya i just saying

i got people at my center doing both ways..

Most take a risk and put it on beater and will drive the nice car with out it.. I hear all the story's about the fines or lost the cars or got to keep the iid longer

Seriously. What they should do is take away ur license not keep letting u drive with one of those breather thing. Why aren't they taking away ur license anyways? Up here u get pulled over DUI style and they impound ur car, throw like literally thousands of dollars in fines at u and take ur license for a year and that's just time number one, get a second DUI and is like 100 times worse

They do everything you just said AND require you to have a BAIID installed on your vehicle for up to a year... otherwise you cannot get your license back. So anyone that has a BAIID on their vehicle, at least in the state of Illinois, does not have their license... only a permit.

I have the most legitimate reason to absolutely hate anyone who drinks and drives. More so people who do it all the time, and or don't learn from getting one DUI let alone multiple ones.

To the OP. You're lucky they even let you drive. Obviously if you have to have a device to start your car, you are a repeat offender.

No, I don't tread lightly on this subject at all.

State of Illinois requires it on first offenses!

I see. Well I did not know that.

I'm not trying to sound like a dick, even though I know I am, but I surely hope the OP learns a lesson from this.

Huh, yeah just like slydin I thought that these things were only for repeat offenders, but ur sayin they do this to all people after they take their license for a year? Damn well I'll give it to them, they are getting tougher.
