OK, so I went to go take the cefiro for another little drive.

The gas that it had been running fine on was the gas that was already in the tank of the rolling body, god knows how long it would have been in there. It started to run out. So i went to the gaso and got about 8 L of 98 octane and poured it in. Turn the key and it just cranks, and doesn't fire.

Fuel pump had bad earth so i fixed that got the pump working all good again, but still just turned over.

Drained the tank and filled it with some more new gas from the station.
Still didnt want to start. Change the plugs to new ones. Still wouldnt start.

It just cranks over and over and over. doesnt make any inroads to starting except very rarely during the cranking, sounded like just 1 cyl fired once and that was it, just kept aimlessly cranking.

Got fed up and sprayed jump start (ether mix) into the air filter, and it decided to start, but as soon as it burnt all the ether from the intake, it just very suddenly died. this happened numerous times. then crank it again and nothing. had to spray more jump start and then itd run till it burnt it off again.

Fuel pumps pumping, theres fuel at the rail, the plugs are sparking and theres obviously air as iv done it with filter piping on and off and t/b closed and partially open and wide open.

Does anybody have any suggestions or ideas as to what my next step might be? thought of checking injectors but it ran fine last time i drove it, turned it off. then filled with some gas and never ran since.

cheers guys

if it gets to the rail fine.

it sound like injectors to me, pull em and try to clean them yourself. if that doesnt work source some good ones.

could it be afm or anything? I'm thinking not cause it runs fine on the ether (needs a few revs though). I Looked down the plug hole and I could see the top of pistons were moist so its getting plenty of gas. Maybe to much? Im pretty stumped but im thinking its either too much fuel or something stupid like afm or whatever

Ive read and read about this kind of issue.. and it seems it can be a few things..

AFM, coolant temp sensor, injectors staying open, injectors over fuelling

has anybody heard of any other reasons why this might be happening?

I KNOW theres gas, spark and air. So it must be something thats working, just not properly..

Pull the injectors and verify they're squirting while in the rail. You could have everything really clogged up with varnish and trash.

Check your fuel pressure

OK, so I went back down there today to give it some more attention..

I tried starting it with the AFM unplugged, no joy. Temp sensor (2 wire one) unplugged and wouldnt start either (people have said these two can stop it from starting if they're no good).

I did notice that the fuel pump is not turning off when u put the key to ON. it comes on and stays on. Usually they click on to prime then shut off again.. This may be cause i had to wire in a different relay as the factory one was broken.

The last time it ran it ran mint, i even drove it. 2 days later. nothing.

One thing i have not done is take out the injectors which im thinking i should and make sure they are squirting. any way to check them while still in manifold? rotate dizzy shaft with key on maybe?

Check your fuel pressure

Noticed that the pump wont prime and click off. so its not holding pressure in the line (leaking or bad FPR). i did check fuel pressure using a few fittings i had and a pressure gauge. came up only 22psi.

changed pump to a brand new one and it said 42 psi.

While cranking, i noticed pressure dropped. i put 12v from a batt onto the pump to power it while cranking. started straight away.
