Hey guys,

Right now I can't afford a cat-back exhaust system, and it may be a few months. So I was considering getting this: http://www.quicktimeperformance.com/qtec.htm

What do you think about the performance? For a turbo car (SR, stock boost for now, bov, downpipe, intake filter) is basically just having a downpipe with no exhaust just as good as having a good catback... I plan on putting this just after the downpipe? I'm sure it will be better than stock, but I wonder how it compares to a catback system such as Blitz NUR Spec R or the like.

Thanks,
John

The less the exhaust has to travel the better.

If I decide to fix up and turbo my S13, I'm going to get a quite exhaust with a regular muffler and cats, then use a 3+" electric cut out for racing...

You know that running this on public streets will be illegal...right? Otherwise, it will probably work fine, imo. anyone with experience???

I can just close it for street use, then open for racing. But I won't do that haha. I'm in AL, so unless a cop carea about the sound, I'll be good, no emmissions testing here.

I just want to able to close it for the women in my car. Plus, its a cheap alternative to a $500 catback. But mainly all I want to know, is how will it perform?

Illegal on the street? How will cops know you have it if you have it closed. It'll be dead silent with a nice restrictive quiet exhaust attached to it. Then just open it for a race.

And you can control it with a switch inside the car.

Exactly, and we're talking STOCK exhaust haha.

Anyways, I bought it... $199 shipped and $40 for installation, i'll have a taper going from this to my 2.25 stock exhaust. I'll get some videos up when I'm done.

Technically here any exhaust is illegal, they're very strict about noise pollution, but we don't even have emmissions testings lol.
