jdm kouki conversion healight wiring

When converting from usdm zenki to JDM kouki headlights what is the proper way to mod the wiring. Obviously i can get the headlights to come on, but i only get either all low beam or all high beam action depending on what i have it set on. I may be wrong, but shouldn't both low and high beams be lit when i have the high beam setting on?

Just checked mine are one or the other. Lows on when normal and just high beams when I hit high.

ok, on the zenki when on high beam setting both lit up so i was curious, i havn't had a chance to test them on the road at night yet tho so maybe the high beam is powerful enough on its own? how is ur's?

I did this the legit way (I am pretty sure) about 5 years ago..........yes, regulars go off when you hit the high beams.

I use Silverstars and they are more than sufficiently bright

I have a 95 -> JDM Kouki conversion and both lights are on with highbeams. I remebered I also had to use a SPDT Relay so that when you just flash your highs the lows don't come on at the same time.

Could you go into more detail how you wired that up or take a pic of the wiring when u have a chance? Sounds legit. When in comes to wiring i dont have a lot of experience.

You shouldn't par-take in any wiring jobs until you learn all the basics. I made a diagram for the S13.5 so that both low and highs would be on when the highs were activated, I'm assuming the same idea applies to the S14.
