Im having a hell of a time sourcing a new bottom mount hks turbo mani.
Enjuku cant get it, frsport is still trying for me...

Has anyone managed to buy a new one recently from anywhere? Almost toying w the idea of going back to Japan to look for one.
I know there are a lot of other options such as Tomei, Full-Race and more; but I would love to mate my new turbo w it.

There is the s13 sr specific which has apparently been discotinued for awhile and the s14/s15 sr specific which available but none are on the shelf right now supposedly.

Thanks for any helpful tips.

for that price you can get manifolds made out of schedual 10 stainless. companies like DOC race and Full race make life time warranted manifolds, Id try that before anything

at half the price...

On the real, I rather buy something like a doc or full race IMO...

Sooo...

.: Catalog :: Synapse Turbo :. (http://www.synapseturbo.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=SM&Product_Code=SR20stock&Category_Code=manifoldnissan)

I guarantee that has a better collector than the HKS one...

How can you guarantee that if you've never seen the hks one before? The hks unit has shorter runners than other manifolds and the tube walls are 3mm thick. The flange is like 1/2" and the welds are beefy and flawless.

I got mine from ToySport but I don't know if they're around anymore. Motovicity is your best bet.

Because all the tubes merge in tandem on the HKS one...?

There's no way the #1 runner doesn't cause turbulence in the collector, unless they are somehow divided all the way to the flange.

I'm not trying to argue with either of your tastes in exhaust manifolds. If you just really want the HKS one for the fact that it's an HKS exhaust manifold, go for it. I'm simply saying that there are better performing manifolds on the market for less, which is a simple fact.

That does look pretty good, especially in this pic:

Finally got my hands on one off of bidjdm/rhdjapan brand new. Been sitting for a couple of years unused. Pipes are smooth and beefy, flanges are very thick and welds are great.
Very high quality, very happy with it. =]

What do you guys think of this one? Tomei Stainless T25 Bottom Mount Manifold : SR20DET (http://www.phase2motortrend.com/tostexmakit.html) Tomei seems like a really good company too.

One of the higher quality turbular bottom mounts you can get like HKS, Full Race, etc but all turbular manifolds are likely to crack just a matter of when. A member CamryOnBronze had his cracking not that long ago. You can see for yourself in the last few pages of his build thread on here. Not trying to say it's a bad manifold, which it definitely isnt, but theres always a risk of it cracking when buying a turb mani.

Off topic but I installed my Megan racing mani 2 weeks ago and damn I can't wait to take that crap off this weekend and go back to stock and hopefully ext. wastegate in the near future. First and only Megan product I'd ever use which looks and seems to be great quality, but once I get into the high rpms feels like there's so much turbulence and the raspyness is killing me.

I had a tomei and it cracked twice on me. Make sure you get a flex pipe in your dp to lessen the chances of cracking.

All stainless manifolds will crack, no matter the brand on type unless you brace them up to make them stronger, its moreso from my beliefs the weight of the turbo pulling at it either pushing down for a top mount or pulling for a low mount..

But agree a flex pipe on your double penetration will help with giving it all a little bit more play, but moreso safety incase your exhaust gets caught you dont rip the rear of the turbo off.

Anyone know anything about topspeed manifolds, I just got it because it was cheap. I had it ceramic coated.

I had an MR back in the days, paid $120 for it and it lasted longer than I thought it would. Shits survived my exhaust bottoming out. I bottomed out so hard thru the grapevine that I sheared the studs off the turbo/elbow manifold. Figured with that kind of damage, the manifold would be a goner. Took it off, inspected it...no fucking crack. MR is an HKS knock off IIRC.

Or you can make your own out of sch10 stainless and never, ever worry about it cracking.

Won't Tomei warranty it? I thought I read somewhere, TOMEI USA will repair free of charge? Maybe not.

Is there any way to chrome the stock manifold? The only thing I do not like about it is the colour. :)

Also...

Jesse Street could probably find one as well.

The problem is that HKS shutdown all U.S. operations. You can still get the products but you now have to deal with HKS Japan.
