sr20det wont fire up HELPPP any ideas ????????

SO been building this coupe for 3 months

order a sr from tiger jap and a new harness and ecu

put everything in and now wont even turn over can get it to bump and crank over but not start .... to crank i have to bump it from the starter , key wont let it crank over

COILS WONT SPARK
ECU HAS RED LIGHT ON [ NOT BLINKING]

ANY IDEAS WHERE TO START AND LOOK FROM

ALMOST EVERYTHING PLUGGED IN .. DO I NEED TO SPLICE ANY CONECTORS ???? or ????????

Check your alternator fuse. Make sure all your harnesses are plugged in correctly and ecu is tightened down properly with harness bolt. Sounds like a wiring issue.

CHeck to make sure all things are grounded, ignition, coilpack, ecu, fuel pump. This can easily be achieved with an ohm meter.

How much voltage you have on the battery? Also, double check your fuel lines and make sure you didnt cross them.

thanks yeah i know its a wiring problem and fuel running threw greatt just cant get em to spray and cant get coils to spark so gots to be a ground or a plug somewhere ?//////?? and alt fuse is good

well got a shell and had no fuse boxes no wiring at all so went to junk yard and pulled in car harness and engine harness and order a new sr harness when got the engine and almost everything plugged right in except 3 clips on passenger side / engine bay towards firewall pluggs if that makes since

do i need to splice any of the pluggs on ecu to harness ?????????

Did you do the wiring so that you get the power to your sensors? there is about 10 or so wires that have to be changed on the interior harness side. also there are wires outside in the bay that have to be connected at fuse box. Looks the sr swap wiring diagrams

i looked up diagram and spliced into the plug on ecu and had to connect 6 wires and did that and still doing the same thing

i would start by checking if all the ecu pins have their required power and ground..

Since it sounds like you had to start with nothing i would also get the fsm and go over the wireing diagrams and checking with a meter if they are right.

yeah went to fr spot and printed out same diagram and cutt and extended everything i was supposed to

How many pluggs do u splice in to ???? Did the main one off the ecu but cant get starter to turn with key ????

first of all you need to make sure you got 12v on the injector clips, coilpack connector and cas clip when u turn the ign on. if u dont then your wiring harness is wrong.

k would a inline fuel pump effect anything like fuel pump relay or injectors squirting canget fuel to run thre adn here fuel pump work cause its on a switch but injectors wont work ????

Also check the ground on the back of the head to the fire wall. If its not good them it won't turn on the ecu

at this point, you should take it to a shop before something gets damaged

i had this same problem with my first sr swap ended up being a thick black w/ purple strip and thick blue w/ red strip i had to connect the one black and purple on the car side harness that i cut off the ka harness. if that makes some sense hope that works for you

you just fucking ignored what i just told you. i bet you didnt even tried to verify if you were getting voltage on each places i just told you to check.

your injectors and coil packs are not going to fire if the cas is not sending signal to your ecu

figured it out thanks everyone for the help and did try what u told me wangan the ecu was burnt up and have a automatic harness from a 90 hatch in the 89 coupe so pulled harness and starting over [part way]

lets see if i can get it this time..... before nissan fest on the 25th

if the ecu is burnt chances are your wiring is jacked up. make sure no crimp solder all the splices, shrink wrap them and some electrical tape to avoid shorting out.

Time to overlook the whole harness. Did you compression check it?
