hey guys,
this swap is being done on a 97 s14 240sx.

so i right now have a sr20det with alot of upgrades and im going to start my 1jz swap. ill be parting out my whole swap(sr20) soon so look for it in the forsale thread

well ill be starting with getting a motor mount kit for this 1jz swap. i would like to get some info from you guys i was thinking about get the full swap kit from tech2 witch is 1550.00 for this full swap kit. everything need for the swap is included in the 1550.00 driveshaft and all.

i was also thinking about Ruckus-Racing kit thats 350+shipping for this kit this kit comes with This kit includes two engine mounts, one transmission crossmember, and sway bar spacers(only needed in certain cases) but i wanted to know has anyone used this kit? does the kit set the motor in the right place so it doesnt hit the sway bar? is the parts in this kit heavy duty? has anyone had any problems with fitments with this kit?

please any info on both these kits will help me alot. i really like the tech2 kit cause of all thats included but i think i can get it much cheaper if i buy the parts myself with alittle shopping. 1550.00 for the kit is a great price dont get me wrong but i think if i peace together what is needed for this swap i can get the parts for much cheaper then 1550.00

thank you.

I did the swap a couple years ago in my 96. It is pretty straight forward, only thing is the wiring (which is different on every model trim and year it seems).

I used the Tech2 kit, it is pretty basic, but so is the swap. The FDS3 swap on the other hand was a little more involved lol.

Tech2 had a forum back then with most of the basic questions/answers in it, not sure if they still do. Give them a call. If it is still the same crew there (Drew and Carlos) they are very helpful.

Looking at the down pipe fitment from under the car. Can't remember the exact type of down pipe, sorry.

Down pipe on the left, catback on the right. You can see the driveshaft (from driveshaft shop) needs shimmed a bit.

My solution for getting the down pipe and catback to connect was to cut the cat back about 2 feet back, at the bend, and bolt it to the down pipe, as seen here.

And just get some 3" pipe expanded a bit for a slip fit.

EDIT: I forgot I had posted this up in the premie section. This is from my DIY lol
How to:
Exhaust on a Supra Swapped 240SX

Parts:
Driftmotion 3" down pipe for 1JZ twin turbo
3" exhaust for S14 chassis, any brand
Sawzall
12" of 3" diameter pipe
Welder

EDIT2: Feel free to ask me any questions, but understand that I haven't seen the car in over three years now, it is parked and rotting lol. I can answer some questions based on memory, but I can't just walk out and get specific answers for you, sorry.

from what i read these will be a nice fitment. but i am reading that the stock cross member will need to be modded???

with the mounts i have int he picture i link ill need to mod my cross member or will this cross member add on to mine to make mine work or will that be my new cross member????

im a little lost with and over whelm reading so much stuff.

my question is will this kit bolt the 1jz in the car or will i need something else?
