Was there any difference in the two sensors? some have a gear on them thats larger in diameter than others. If thats the case it may not be contacting the drive gear on the main shaft inside the box.

does the sensor they gave u have a metal body or plastic? If metal body its from s13 and that sensor will read double on your dash.. so dont use that one lol

Yeah I has a metal body......... And no I didn't do a 5 spd swap.... My tranny went bad and had to replace it...... I was using my speed.sensor on the new tranny too..... And my speed wasn't reading........ I know my speed sensor works

The easiest way to tell if it is a s13 trans it that they don't have the hole in the top of the bell housing by the flywheel for the crank position sensor. The output shaft sleeve cover thingy is also different I believe.

Yeah thats what I notice...... So I had to use my bell housing.... But shouldn't it work even if I use my bell housing and my speed sensor

not if the gear on the other sensor is different. if its larger in diameter or sticks out further then it won't read as it won't be contacting the drive gear on the main shaft inside the box properly, so it won show anything at all
