Alright i just wanted to share. After searching and researching i finally did this "simple" mod. I took some photos, let me know what you think. I will also take some pictures when i put it back onto the car tomorrow. Next i will do my taillights.

Here is the link, i dont know how to do pictures right now.

let me know if anyone needs a write i can come up with something. i used 5mm white led and 470 resistors from ebay and got the board from Radioshack.

I thought you need to use the same color as the lense since it will make the red look pink, Thats what i thought, correct me if im wrong.

u may be right, when i tested it briefly, it was kind of like a tint of orange i believe but i will be able to tell more when i get it back on the car.

I just replaced all 6 bulbs with SMD LED bulbs on my S14.

Me likes, I want to do that for my coupe, I think for the front turn signals you're gonna need capacitors because you'll end up getting that really fast blink because the low voltage so the car thinks your bulb is blown

nah, it will still be giving the correct voltage because in not changing anything in the circuitry. just running resistors to keep the led's from blowing but we will see when i finish the turn signals.

also StryfeS13, how do you post the pictures like that, can you please pm instructions of something i'm a newb sorry.

photos updated on the bucket but not finished with it yet, trying to figure out how i am going to solder all the resistors on correctly. i am doing 3 rows so that the center row stays on and the top and bottom rows blink for the turn signal, at least that is the logic in the head.

Sorry, I meant resistors not capacitors....lol good job though, I really like the idea of the 3 row turn signal with the center row always lit and the top and bottom rows blink, I May just have to steal your idea and try it myself, where are you getting your LED bulbs if you don't mind me asking?

Sorry I'm in my iPhone and can't edit, disregard the last question, just reread your first post of where you got the stuff from...lol

turn signal pictures uploaded.
middle line is constant on with parking lights.

top and bottom rows are blinking turn signals and they are blinking fast like when you have a burnt light bulb, i wired it up the best way i thought i could.

i will buy another stock set and try another led layout. there is just not much room to work with on the board. oh and they look yellow/amber in color instead of the stock orange with the OEM bulb.

They are blinking fast because you need to install load resistors to mimic the load of standard bulbs. This is pretty common knowledge for those converting to LEDs.

was not known to me but i do know now, thanks for the info, just googled it and once i research it i will do the add on. cant wait to do my taillights, i have some better design/layout ideas now that i have done it a couple times. and yes i will probably purchase some red leds for the rear taillights.

do you know what rating resistor i need or the difference in load resistor to blinking speed?

just a quick update on this...i went to Radio Shack and purchased a wire wound/load resister from them. It was like a few bucks. Just another option versus buying one of these for 10-15 bucks.
