hey whats up guys so i got a few questions for all you folks that drive SLAMMED. im getting my first pair of coilovers (stance LX+PLUS) on my base model s14. but before i install them i had a few questions and hopefully some of you guys can give me some feed back or some advice in advance as this is going to be my first lowered car that i will be driving :wiggle:
my QUESTION being is what type of mods will i need to do in-order to drive slammed, will i need to relocate engine harness or remove fender covers etc? i dont want to encounter any future problems that can be prevented before hand. i am currently going to be driving on stock tear drops so i plan to go SUPER LOW. also what settings should i set my coilovers too, as to stiffness, height settings and dampering? i do NOT plan to go to the track, she WILL be my daily but i also might hit a few late night industrial area drifts. im new to all this so any adivice or tales or problems you guys might have encountered when slamming your car would be greatly appricated. i just want to take any precautions so i dont encounter them later! Thanks in advance!

Dont slam your car, its fucking stupid. It looks dumb on stock wheels as well. Just go 2 inches lower than stock.
Depending on how low you go:
-You'll need aftermarket arms to get a proper alignment.
-You'll need to relocate your harness, and remove your fender liner.
-You'll need to get your fenders rolled if you ever get new wheels.
-How you set up your coilovers is all personal preference. Just mess around with them until you find a setting you like.
Next time try searching, because this has been covered a lot.

On stock wheels, meh, it looks alright to be "slammed". It's a lot better than having knock off wheels & acting like you're something.

Anyway,
-Relocate your fender harnesses. Tuck it real high or do it the right way & go with a engine bay tuck
-If they are tucked higher, trim fender liner & tie them to the harness. It'll give you a cleaner OEM look.
-You will have to spend time with a big hammer to your under fender. Heating before hammering helps.
-If your coils bottom out, removing collars will be your last smart resort to going lower.
-I wouldn't attempt drifting in LX+'s but that's on you.
-Next time, please do some research before you make a thread.

is there a D.I.Y thread on how to relocate the fender harness? my search comes up with like 5 pages of threads. and why wouldnt you recomend drifting on LXs?

Remove your fender liner & look underneath, you should see a seam. That is a bitch to hammer flat & if you don't find a way to get rid of it say goodbye to any hopes of going low.

Remove fenders, pull harness up, find a way to tie it down. Simple.
LX+'s are more of a daily driving. If I'm not mistaken, they are valved real soft (intended for daily driving) & I have friends that had the fronts blow on them after some spirited driving. Not saying that yours are going to blow/they are crappy but you should have gone with GR+'s.
GR+ would have been a better choice for both spirited driving & daily driving. They aren't too stiff & they can take a beating.

why do you want to be slammed? to impress us in the picture thread? Don't slam on stock wheels, do a mild job first, than when you start getting more suspension parts, than slam. But when you go 18 and a kit, you dont slam as much lol

Then why do you wanna ruin your car when your super low on stocks. Plus your gonna have the shittiest ride too.
Lower it 2inches and you will look "ok" on Stocks. Dont be a rattard.:picardfp:

if he wants to slam it on stockers - let him slam it on stockers.
telling people not to do things for safety reasons is one thing, telling them not to do things because of YOUR personal preference is selfish.

i moderate on different nissan forums and see it all the time. the members get too caught up in their own personal views and push them on everyone. if i listened to everyone elses opinions, i wouldnt have a turbo altima or half the cool shit i have. in the end, its the owners opinion that counts, no one elses.

I know you are putting thought into your decision and that is a sign of maturity.
As a heads up,
When you do lower your ride height, know that your oil pan is going to be closer to the ground and will be easier to damage.

ay ay (; not true aha I'm pretty slammed although i am on 17/18 stagger but even for that I'm low low low :p but yeah the seam killer is killer kill it, aha and if you don't like the "bumpy ride" low isn't the way to go bro, you need stiffness to be low fitted and kitted, if not you'll be rubbing your wheels, tires(depends on your setup swell :P)

If you are "slammed", your car is gonna handle pretty poorly compared to a 2" drop.
So when your trying to pretend to know how to drift at night, your most likely going into a curb, and at "slammed" height, that means the entire rocker is gonna get fucked and your door will never fit right again.
If its really your daily, then drift at the track where there is nothing to hit or ruin it. Streets can be fun, but not a place to learn, especially in a car that you ruined the handling in.

make sure you take out the collars on the coilovers. lol. ALSO slammed 240s easily bend tie rods. so be aware.

if you want slammed your giving up ride quality cause you dont want your tires hitting your chassis.. so the lower you go the harder the ride.

^ Those knuckles are great options if you can swing the price.
Here's how to tuck the harness for ultimate protection.
DIY Tengoku - Engine Loom Removal - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RI4e8kmvQsk&feature=player_embedded)
You WILL need adjustable RUCAs and Toe arms, to get a proper alignment. Probably PBM, Stance or any other arms with the bends in them to make sure they don't bang your subframe and snap when you hit a pothole on the highway too hard.
Also you should get some SPL tie rods up front to correct your now horrible geometry so your car doesn't steer like a nervous squirrel. But i'd get PBM knuckles up front if you can afford it for a better solution.
Driving slammed cars isn't all too bad if you do it right. But do it wrong and pay the price later.
Also I recommend a steel skid plate. Online Store - Xcessive Manufacturing (http://www.xcessivemanufacturing.com/ONLINESTORE.html?cid=41&step=4&pid=146)
Don't get any of that aluminum bs.

Get atleast 12k 10k springs and coilovers that are valved for them. My fortune auto coils ride real comfy and my subframe is 1.5" off the ground. Can be done with stock arms out back but you will have tons of camber. I layed frame on stock wheels haha the car wouldn't move.
