Ok, I have a 92 OBDI KA 240sx that will not run, barely even fire.
Engine timing is correct, cams out on TDC of the compression stroke.
Distributor set to #1 spark plug on cap firing order being 1342 counter clockwise on the cap starting with the top right plug on the cap (AKA #1)
Almost perfect compression on each cylinder.
Plenty of fuel in each cylinder.
Spark is fine.
Installed new harness and tried a new ECU.
My question is what sensors are needed for initial start up?
I believe it is CTS, TPS, and CPS. Is that all?
Thanks for any help you may have.

Forgeting crank angle sensor sir
OBDI engines don't have CAS...
But thanks for the info.

did you check to see if your starter, fuel pump, battery,or injector are working..maybe a fuse..check for small things first..make sure there is fuel pressure..i cant even remember how many times this happened to me lol

doest it start if you jump start it..just do all the trouble shooting for it and keep us updated

TPS is not needed to start the car. In fact when you set timing, it should be unplugged before starting the car.
EDIT: Also your distributor could be off a tooth. It's a pain in the ass to get it right, because in-between attempts you have to wait for the cylinders to clear of gas. Otherwise, even if it's right, it won't start due to flooding.
Have you tried adjusting the distributor (changing the angle)? In my case even it being off a tooth was enough to prevent it from starting no matter which way I had it.

Well starter obviously works, Walbro is loud and clear, battery at 650+ CCA, injectors clicking in sequence with plugs, checked all fuses. This isn't a simple problem I believe.

Ignition timing is set, even though I know I did it right I have pulled it out and set it a tooth both ways, even set it 180 out even though I knew I was on the compression stroke.
Update.
I pulled the plugs w/ wire and turned the CPS by hand (removed) and my injectors and plugs fire in order (1342). HOWEVER... When I do the same test (CPS installed) turning it over by engine power I get no spark or very inconsistent spark. Is it possible I have a shorted out starter that still turns over fine but drawing way too much current? I do have a parasitic drain on the electrical system.

Might not help, But when #1 is TDC and the dizzy is in, pulled the rotor cap and check to see if the rotor is point at middle of #1 point on the cap. might be off enough to fuck with you.

Already checked, if anything I believe it should be slightly to the right of #1.
New theory (checked the firing today with a fresh battery being turned over by the engine and the starter is not the issue)
I think it is actually the walbro 255 over powering the stock fpr. I have a shit load of fuel being dumped.

check your maf also, a bad MAF can also cause tarting problem. Make sure the pins inside aren't bent. Even with the MAF unplug the car should start but will be in safe/limp mode. Just a thought, good luck ^_^

MAF is off of a running car, and I don't believe a MAF has much impact on initial start up but I could be wrong.
