Hey guys, well my valves started ticking. Now, I know that if the pivot is hydraulic, they can't be adjusted. What is the SR? Also, can they be adjusted? If they can't be adjusted, what should be my next step to make the ticking stop?

Lifter Tap on an SR could also be a sign of low oil puressure.

Oil pump might be on its way out, get an oil puressure gauge and check the pump.

If oil pruessure is fine you might have air in the HLA's.

SR20s have hydraulic lifters...if you suspect lifters, the proper way to prime them is to remove them and pump them while they're submerged in engine oil. You must ensure that they do not get turned on their side or upside-down after you prime them.

A tick that starts suddenly out of nowhere indicates a lifter problem.

Get the fsm for the sr. Look it up on here. I cant get the links to work on the websites to good luck man. Just bleed your lifters, make shore you do them right. If the problem is still there, get an oil pressure gauge. But I would highly reccomend an oil pressure gauge on any modified car, ESPECIALY an sr20. And dont buy a cheap ass one either. Thats where I made my mistake, 15 psi? No. New gauge read whatever it said I forget but it was right. I made a thread about it lol.
