anyways, what kind of knock - where did it come from? deep or shallow sound? meaning, high pitch knock or low pitch knock?

are your engine/trans mounts all tight and in good shape?

yea its not a mount i know for a fact. what are the chances its a rod knock? anything else that could make a knocking sound? i guess its time for the motor to come back out.....

I'd run it first, at least make sure it's a knock before you go any further.

Does the noise make while u open the throttle? Or those it stop while crusing? Because if it sounds like its knocking it can probably be the tranny or the valve lifters. My brother 300zx and its alot of work to rebuid.
