Im in the process of re-lipping my rims and its come time to look for new tires..
rims size = 18x10 +6 / 18x11+13
tire size = 245/35/18 or 235/40/18 Front 265/35/18 rear
so ive been browsing tire rack and ive narrowed it down to a few tire choices.
im looking for some thing grippy and stiff side wall, I dont drive the car much just on weekends and I probably wont drive it in the rain. Im looking for something around 180-250 thread wear.
My budget for all four tires are 700-900 shipped (cheaper the better)
So far this is what i came up with:
TW=Thread wear
Hankook rs-3 - $828 - uses 235/40 - 180 TW
Hankook v12 evo - $878 -280 TW
yoko. s-drive - $750 -300 TW
sumitomo htr z3 - $622 - uses 235/40 - 300 TW
thats what i came up with. Im leaning highly to the Sumitomo because of the reviews cheap price and decent grip.
Im not going to track this car much, maybe one or two road race events in the summer , mainy its a hi way runner/back road car.
Also take into consideration that after this summer im putting my rims up for sale so tires will not really fetch to much more money so im trying to avoid spending over 1g on tires only to take a loss on it by the end of this year what do you recommend?
