I put new coilovers on and now my exhaust is almost touching the ground :/
Anyways i am dropping it off at the exhaust shop to get cut and moved. My prob is i cant drive it there being that low. No way. I wanna raise the coilovers as high as i can. How much thread has to be in the bottom mounts so i know how high i can go. (its about 10min away from my house)

I would say at least one to two full thread circles. What set up are you running?
If you're having this issue then there is something wrong with your exhaust or coil over set up.
fixing the exhaust unless that's the true problem is only a band aid for a bigger problem.

I need to sell my coilovers!? ^^^^
So ya my exhaust IS the problem. it was kinda custom so its needs to be cut and angled higher. Just need to temp adjust the coils for the ride there. I just wanted to be safe driving with them up high since i never really did that before...:picardfp:

Since everyone is making fun of you here, I'll tell you need about one inch of thread engagement, it is usually written in the installation manual.

Anyone installing suspension components shouldn't need an installation manual.

I'm not laughing at your coilovers. I'm laughing at you fucktard. I also don't have any kids and can spend my hard earned money however I choose.
I can understand why you didn't blow 2 grand on legit coils. Props for putting your family first. But you don't want to drive down the road to get your exhaust fixed whyyyyy? Seriously my car is slammed as fuck! I drive it daily everywhere with no ill effects. Now get in your 240 and drive slow and go get your exhaust tucked more and stop making stupid threads!

Omg so pretty much everyone here is a complete moron. The coilovers are NOT the problem, the exhaust is, which is what the OP said in the post. So his question is valid and everyone that is talking shit is just pissed that they haven gotten laid in years. He's just asking a simple question so the fact that you're actually taking the time out of your day to comment on this thread and talk shit is just sad. It's good to know that all your attention is being focused on him right now so I would say that's a win for him. Lmao you guys always amaze me.

OP, Are you looking for a good working car, or a hellaflush fanboy car? Lower doesn't always = better.
When you modify things to the extreme, you have to modify other parts of the car so the overall objective can be obtained.
Figure out what you want, to scrape lots and look cool to other teenage boy dreamers, or to have a functional car. Either way, you will have to put work into it, or money, or both.
Personally, I'd save up my hard earned cash to buy a 2nd hand welder and create stuff If I was you. Nothing better then building something with your own hands and making it work how you want.
cheers.

yea its a DD not wanting anything crazy low. I would love to weld my own shit, that would be badass. but to all the people that think im stupid are the real fucking idiots. read my ORIGINAL post. I KNOW my car is low. I KNOW my exhaust is low. All i ever wanted to know is how much thread is needed to be in the mount on the coilovers so i could raise the car high enough to safely drive the car to the shop. its really sad how unhelpful some of you are. why do you even open the post w/o expecting to be helpful. i guess everybody isn't like me, i open a thread EXPECTING to provide an answer that will help the OP. if i had somebody else to ask TRUST ME i would ask them first. its like you guys sign on hoping to find somebody with a problem that you can bash. im not a tough guy flexing my internet muscles, but most of you Zilvians are major homos.
Thanks for the legit answers tho! :blah:

Lol really? Didn't know a set of coilovers that takes 2 hours to install was "modifying to the extreme".

Other teenage boy dreamers? If you paid any attention you would realize that the dude is a grown ass man. Get a life bro go "flame some noobs man!"

I know i'm beating a dead horse here, but what the...what?
Raise it. Use these things human beings have called eyes, and decide if you think you can drive it. It's not rocket science haha.
I don't get it.

omg dude just think about it. do you have coilovers? the threaded pipe threads into a sleeve that mounts to the spindle. how much of that has to be threaded in to safely drive it. BUT THAT ANSWER WAS GIVEN. i didnt know if these coilovers would goto the stock height. if i had to just DECIDE if it was ok then wtf is the point of a car forum?! my exhaust if low as fuck and it will have to go kinda high to be drivable, not just a couple turns dude. please lock this onslaught of retardation.

If the car is low and exhaust is scraping, that is what I would call extremely low and not safe for the application.
Other teenage boy dreamers? If you paid any attention you would realize that the dude is a grown ass man. Get a life bro go "flame some noobs man!"
I was not flaming anyone. Just pointing out that lower doesn't = better. I'm sorry if I offended you and the trend you may choose follow.
Frankly, it would appear that some people don't realize that a problem like this is fixed by the OP getting under his car wrenching or modifiying, or paying someone to do it for him. There is no help the internet could give on this matter.
Thread count? Really? :duh: Just research coilovers by a search engine and you might read about pre-loading springs, and such. There is a lot of valuable information out there.
...the answer to this question, was to raise the car back up, or modify the exhaust.
If that is considered being a dbag, then I guess I'm one.
