Topic and description says it all. Definetially going to get the 240sx S14, but I constantly see both these model versions and I have no idea what the differences are. Can somebidy plesae explain? TIA.

i'm not sure about this but i think..............
1. se has 5 lug wheels
2. se has LSD/ABS standard?
3. se has white faced guages
4. se has a rear sway bar
5. se has rear spoiler
6. non se comes with 15's
i think there are changes other than the lights throughout the s14's life, so what i just said could be completely worthless

I hate to add something without having definite answers, but I heard that LE S14's had everything the SE's had except they came with leather or something like that.
If there was a non SE or LE (base model?), that would be the one with the 4 lugs, etc.
More non-expert info for ya'll <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

The E stands for edition, the S and L stand for Sport and Luxury, respectively. The LE didn't last long because 240sx owners, though amused by leather seats, tend to care more about suspension.
I don't know the exact options and what not, but I know LE's were oriented towards comfort and SE's were oriented towards performance. What would you pick?
Well, when Nissan realized that everyone else would too, the LE went bye bye.

Thx Jeff. Just was on Autotrader and I had no idea why some had LE, some had SE, and some not nothing. I'd take the SE anyday <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>. Is there really a base model?

I have a Canadian spec LE (5-spd)
It has:
- white faced guages
- 16 inch rims with 205/55 R16 tires
- abs/lsd
- trunk spoiler
- rear sway bay
- leather
- stock stiff suspension
All I can find are 240SX LEs, never actually seen a 240SX SE

there is a base model, although i think it was only in canada. here, the SE is available with 4-lug non-abs non-lsd no-tail no-leather 15"rims. essentially a base model, but with the good suspension and moonroof, upgrade stereo, etc.
My SE came with front & rear sways, Leather, white face gauges, 5lug 16" rims, spoiler, a nice stock suspension, power moonroof thing, power everything else, cd player, 6 speakers(4speaks/2tweets), and abs/lsd. Maybe some of the SE options came standard on LE...like leather *shrugs* dono.

Stop it Vancouver and Madindian <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> you're going to make us all even more confused!
In the US:
SE is a sports edition - it comes with white gauges, 5 lug 16" wheels, full power, upgraded suspension, and rear spoiler. The front chin spoiler and lumbar support was installed in 1995 (and maybe 1996), but became optional and discontinued, respectively, on the later cars. Options would allow leather, abs/vlsd, moonroof, and upgraded stereo (w/ power antenna on 1995).
IIRC, the LE had a less agressive suspension and standard leather seats and upgraded stereo. Dunno about the lumbar (likely though, since LE was only 95-96, IIRC) and I think the LE came w/o the chin spoiler. Otherwise, the SE and LE are the same and offer the same option choices. In short, you can get ALL LE options on an SE and all but the SE suspension on the LE.
Base model, in US, had black gauges, weaker suspension (w/o r sway bar), 4 lug 15" wheels (both in alloy and wheelcovers), and in most years, no abs/lsd or leather option. Otherwise, the base had optional moonroof, spoiler (r and chin), stereo, etc.
Canadian SE is US base model (+standard lsd for the snowy winters). LE is like the US SE.
I may be off about the dating of the LE, as I don't recall the years it was offered, but the basics are correct.

canadian models do not have lsd standard.
dont know why everyone keeps saying that....
and it snows more in most parts of the US than it does in vancouver
I've read it somewhere....
did you encounter 240sx's with no LSD in Canada?

I have a LE and I have a chin spoiler and lumbar support for the driver seat. I'm pretty sure I have the sport suspension too.

Okay, that thing I said in my last post about confusing us...
Your car is CANADIAN spec. Please mention this when you are relaying this info as others may not understand that this means that your trim levels there are different from ours in the US. Like I said - Canadian LE = US SE.
