Usually you pay the 99 bucks and they send you a card with a magazine, and a website and you just get discounts on parts you don't want.

If you have self esteem, you can do it yourself. Build a portfolio, a clean car, no janky shit. Have goals and ambition behind it.. Don't do it because you want free stuff. Also helps that your local to companies so you can go down in person. In california, basically everything is out here..
Im sure small companies like godspeed, megan etc are easy peasy to get parts from imo. Established companies you got to be on good terms with them.
Start going to big car meets.

I actually did do this a couple years back for my S14. There were some decent discounts on some ok parts (got Mishimoto electric fans at a decent discount), but I can tell you that we can save you as much on most of the items.
If you are really diligent and spend a lot of time at shows, doing their requirements, you do get some free stuff (some halfway decent), but it's a decent amount of work.

I've tried it before, complete BS. Like most people said, just discounts on parts you really don't want. Non name brand Chinese made knockoff crap company parts. Of and if you ask for a refund, they still take $20 out of your refund and ask you why. I told them I was getting a Prius (never would I drive one) and they said they had parts for Prius also, lol

If what you offer/what your car offers is marketable, legitimate companies will contact you with full sponsorships.
