wink mirrors and flossy grip tape knob

looking thru the huge interior thread, i didnt see any grip tape knobs... anyone have any pics of one installed? thinking of getting 2 of them, one for the hatch and one for the evo. what about wink mirrors? didnt see too many of those either. i want to get one but not sure what size to get and if i should remove my visors or not.

from what i've read and can see in pictures, at least on S13s you will most likely have to remove the visors for the wink to fit correctly, and the owners say that the mirror itself acts as a decent visor from the sun.

i think theres a way to attach them to my windshield without sacrificing the visors. for about 20 bucks for the wink, i guess its not breaking the bank to grab one and see.

I had to do this for my S14 when i had a wink mirror. Had to sacrifice the sun visors. The mirror will block the sun a bit but it's very minimal; Id rather have the visors than not. I really enjoyed having the wink mirror tho, it allowed me not to have to look into my side mirrors when changing lanes. :cool:

wink mirrors have a windshield mount kit available. you have to mount it the same way your rear view is, with glue adhesive.

the use of a sun visor with a wink mirror would very well defeat the mirrors purpose, seeing as the sun visor would block the mirror

I've always wanted one of those mirrors, never got around to getting one though. Where do you guys put your parking passes and stuff? I need a parking pass at my college, and I know I'd never remember to put it on my dashboard every time I got to school.

when i have things to hang, i usually put them on the shifter - the cops out here like to nab us for stuff on our rvm displays. i guess that would only work though if the security guard in your school looks in the window...

That won't work at my school.

One time the parking pass fell off of my mirror and was laying on the seat, I guess the parking enforcer guy didn't see it, or just didn't care, and gave me the ticket anyways. I went to fight it and it didn't work, I still had to pay.

get velcro and stick the parking pass to the window. or scotch tape it so its not permanent

I know, Long Beach Community College only gives like this little thing you put around the mirror.

I thought I beat the ticket too, because I sent in the copy of the parking pass and my statement and nothing came back and I looked online and it said I had no tickets. But about 2 months later they sent the ticket to me again in the mail saying I didn't win, and that the parking pass is supposed to be in plain sight to avoid getting a ticket.

this use scotch tape around the outer edge. tape it to the top or bottom corner.


as for the wink mirror i have one in my s14.
if your tall itll block the sunlight.
im 5'10 and the mirror blocks the sun.
i like it.

All I know, is I think grip tape in my hand would be the best material for a ships knob, I need to exfoliate the palms of my hands.
