ahh, the ever lasting debate i've been seeing them for the last few years and they're always the same questions which gets tiresome. but they're questions that need to be asked when switching to another engine. that doesn't bother THAT much seeing them over, but what bothers me is the thought that a lot of people may not need to even ask these questions for the following reasons.
they don't even own a 240SX, they are young with no money and just started a job, and are excited about getting a 240sx and want to know what they can do.
or someone who has a 240sx for a while, but they don't have a single upgrade on their car because they don't have any money, yet they are so worried about the capacities of a SR's injectors because they will get a bigger turbo and raise the boost.
personally, i don't see how people like TY, asad, and alex (mav) can constantly keep repeating the same answers to people that will never do the swap even in 3 years. i would go insane!
i hate to sound grumpy, but does anyone feel that maybe a quarter of the people will actually save up the money and go through with the swap? and the others just input their comments about which has a better powerband and which one has better reilability when they've never drove either. i'm not saying it's a waste of time (well, sometimes i do), but i just wanted to know if anyone else felt that way. personally i don't ask complex questions unless i have the money for the product/service i'm wanting. but we all gotta learn i guess.

I have said that before, the general response is to stop being mean when in fact most of the people will never swap or get a new engine. When people ask "which one should I get" they don't relise it is a matter of prefrence/situation each person is in a different sitiuatuion so one thing for someone would'nt be the right thing for the other. Whatever they all make you go faster!!

I see your point and somewhat agree. However, you have to remember that this is a FORUM and any and all questions and topics about our cars are welcomed. We all come here to chat about what we like. I personally use this site for inspiration and encouragement to keep improving my car. It's good to know that there is plenty of people out there with a strong interest in the 240SX.

i'm not saying people shouldn't ask about it, even though it gets old, people do have the right to talk about it. if it weren't for the forums we wouldn't be able to better ourselves! but i guess i'm thinking more about the people who compare the engine characteristics and the people who rip on another engine. you don't find it sometimes annoying that people put down your KA-T, yet they praise an SR and they don't know much about cars in the first place?

Can't argue w/ that.

Hehe yeah you've got a point there. One good example are the articles that Super Street alwasy write about the SR swaps. It really pisses me off everytime because they always put down the KA motor as a crappy "truck engine". These guys have no cluse as to what they're saying. I bet whoever wrote these articles never even got into a well turbocharged KA. Guys like these I DO have a grudge against. So I see what you're saying, but at the same time, I don't want to discourage people from asking "stupid" questions because I do that alot

i would say it is not about asking people to not ask the same thing over, it has to do with do you homework and find out about it, i had my car with the extra KA24DE in the garage trying to decide if i should get rid of it and get another engine or not, i must say that i did quite a bit of research going to websites and reading about the dif engines and what the advantages and disadvantages were before i started to ask anyone ?'s, also i agree with the money thing, just talked to someone yesterday about this and you get like 100 kids saying they want to do it but only one has the money to actually pull it off. sorry about the length

I just started the last sr vs. ka thread and i am my funds r being built up as we speak. Although, the thread did help me a little with my decision it was not the main contributor, mainly because of just what u said ..... there were more peeps bashing engines than giving useful information. Plus, when peeps get on there and start saying this engine can do this and this engine can do that, i don't believe squat of what their saying unless they r a very reputable source or show me some dyno charts or #'s or something. I take it as hearsay and just speculation or an estimate of what the persons opinion of the engine can do. Neway, I am thankful for some of the post that did help though.
