I don't understand why they would have those for cop cars. They would get beat to shit very quickly.
But anyway they are pretty cool, much cooler than the cop cars here.

wow.
The cop cars around here would die trying to keep up with most other cars on the road.
Those things would actually be worth while cop cars.

actually, i think one of the mags did a test on the cop cars (SSC?) and the numbers were horrible. They're autos and pretty damn slow for a modded V8.
i'm not sure if the japanese force use stick or auto, but i don't think STis or GTRs came in autos...
none the less, running from ANY cop car is stupid, that cop may not get you, but others will.
oh, and i've heard that the Germans use 911s and other sick exotic cars to patrol the autobahn (cause, well its the autobahn).

What's the clear shield on the hood for?
Dunno for sure, but it *might* be a deflector to route the air traveling up the hood up and over the roof, to keep as much air from getting to the light bar and generating drag and lift. The R34s and President (?) have 'em, while the G35s don't (they have small roof lights) and the Subarus don't, because it would block air to the intercooler.

my bad, didn't see it was posted earlier. Don't have time to always look at everything on the forums.

thats pretty cool, but pretty useless. its not as if cop cars chase you one at a time and if u lose one youre done. they could have the slowest cars ever and still catch alot of people because of communication and theres so damn many of them. oh, and training. :D
still cool tho.

the camaro interceptors don't have any engine mods at all just suspension upgrades in the LS1 variants the reason thy are slower than stock versions is due tothe extra weight of light bar and other cop stuff adding a signifigant amunt to an already hefty automobile I raced one once in my area (my friend is a cop) with a stock WS-6 and the interceptor was owned on the other hand the interceptors have the best suspension of any f-body my old trans am had an interceptor suspension pirated off of a wrecked camaro and it owned at auto crosses

"you can outrun a Crown Vic, but you can never outrun a Motorola" :D

actually German autobahn patrol cars are Audi A6s... FWD ones at that :D (lighter weight than AWD, and the 2.7T as well since they're as fast as the 4.2 but handle better). Although the Dutch have lighter-weight 911s as interceptor cars (not sure if it's for their version of the highway patrol or the special police or whatever).

I thought there was no speed limit on the autobahn? What do you get pulled over for ... no turn signals.

Yea, its kinda hard to outrun a motorola. Also pretty hard to outrun a chopper. Theres a lot of chopper speed traps around here.

Some sections of the Autobahn have no speed limits, basically stretches in rural areas between cities. But even on the unlimited sections, there are still other traffic laws, and believe it or not turn signals (and their proper use) is a major one.
It would be impossible to run at those high speeds as safely as they do without very good driver education and strict enforcement of lane discipline and passing procedures. Basically, if you aren't in the act of passing someone, stay to the right. If you intend to pass the guy in front of you, check your mirrors for faster cars coming up from behind, hit your turn signal, and flash your headlights so the guy you're passing knows he's being passed. Then when you've passed him, get your ass back over to the right. I wish it were like that here, too many idiots.

When I was in Japan, I saw a police GTO (3000GT) patrolling a rest-stop at wangan and an R32 GT-R chasing people around at Daikoku (Bay Bridge). I actually have video f the GT-R... I really should upload it... Its been a week since I've been back, but I'm sooo lazy :D.
